TANKFEST GUEST VEHICLE ALERT 🚨

We are excited to announce that the M3 Grant is coming to TANKFEST! This rare tank was used extensively in WWII trials (and has 494 holes to prove it) and the development of Chobham armour in the 1970s. It was rescued from the ranges and restored by C&C Military.

It is the world’s oldest running American Medium tank, and the first and last Grant in UK service. See it in action at TANKFEST!

CMV contributor Clare Westbrook visited the British Normandy Memorial today and described it as "an amazingly atmospheric place, overlooking Gold Beach, with the remains of the Mulberry Harbour in the distance.
"The Standing with Giants installation is incredibly moving. 1,475 statues representing the number of British troops who fell on D-Day."

Pipe Major Trevor Macey-Lillie salutes after his landing at Gold Beach, Normandy marking the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings. Pipe Major Lacey-Lillie of 19th Regiment Royal Artillery (The Scottish Gunners) landed ashore on a World War Two-era DUKW and played a lament at precisely 7.25am marking 80 years to the minute since the D-Day beach landings began.

A World War Two DUKW makes its way onto the beach at Arromanches-les-Bains as part of the D-Day 80th Anniversary commemorations held on June 6, 2024. Royal Marines stepped onto the sands of Normandy – as they did on D-Day, 80 years ago.

Classic military vehicle enthusiasts, historians, veterans and members of the public have, over the past few days, been gathering around the bridge to pay their respects to those who took part in the daring operation.
