In Edinburgh, over 80,000 people are living in relative poverty, including one in five children.

During Challenge Poverty Week, community voices and campaigners gathered at the End Poverty Edinburgh conference to call for urgent action.

Held at the Grassmarket Community Project, the event shone a light on the injustice of poverty in Scotland’s capital and the impact it has on marginalised groups.

City leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to prevention and change, including new funding through the Regenerative Futures Fund and better access to support.

🚧✨ A new look for Queensferry is taking shape!

Millions are being invested to transform Queensferry High Street and the town centre, creating a safer, more accessible, and vibrant environment for residents, visitors, and businesses. 🏘️💙

The first phase of work, from Seals Craig to Hawes Car Park, began on 7 October and focuses on resurfacing and pavement widening, with minimal disruption and no loss of parking.

Next year’s phase will see major improvements, including wider pavements, electric vehicle parking, new cycling routes, and enhanced public spaces, all while preserving Queensferry’s unique historic charm. 🌳🚴‍♀️
