When setting up your own guitar make sure to check you intonation, string height and the most common thing we fight (that you’ve stretched all the strings properly)

It's a mix from home kind of day. ☕️ Here are the steps I go through when mixing anywhere but the studio:
1. Listen through reference playlist ✅
2. Load up Pro Tools ✅
3. Make a coffee ✅
4. Wait for Pro Tools to crash ✅
5. Play with the dog 🐶 ✅
6. Mix the track ✅
7. Annoy my neighbours with the car test ✅
8. Make another coffee ✅
9. Start over ✅
10. Realise it was perfect before so we print and send to artist ✅

-GUITAR TONES-
We pride ourselves on our guitar tones. We have a wide array of amps that are suitable for any tone/genre, we have the studio set up so we can try out different amps and cabs within seconds (also the Kemper) making finding the perfect guitar tone so much easier. However, that's only a small part of finding the tone. As anyone who has recorded with us will tell you, we tune a lot. I mean A LOT. An out-of tune guitar is the first thing that would ruin an otherwise perfect tone. Secondly, the strings. For a great guitar tone fresh strings are an absolute must (no Neil, those strings from 3 years ago that look like you used them to floss a gutter will not do). Next is the pick, yup; that piece of paper you've been playing with is one of the main things stopping you from re-creating that guitar tone from your favourite Periphery record (luckily we have a goblet full of plenty of picks to choose from)! Lastly and by far the most important part. The song itself - if you're playing overly complicated parts that are out of key with everything else - or if your strumming pattern doesn't even closely match the groove of the song, there's not much that will save your tone! Get the song right and everything else will slot into place! (The acronym KISS works perfectly here, Keep It Simple Stupid)
- BONUS TIP -
Make sure your Bass and guitar are in the same key! If you're grooving on a C and your bassist is busy slapping a C # - you may ruin that catchy chorus you've been working on.
