Sea Change Film Festival is Family-Friendly 🎨🌈

👩‍🎨 We have an amazing family program where kids get free access to the festival and can enjoy various fun workshops. From making wedding accessories for Mamma Mia with artist Kerry Froud to creating a mini mobile film with filmmaker Shanine Gallagher - there's so much for the little ones to do including Gaelic Book Bug led by Iseabail Chaimbeul.

Remembering Together ... How It Feels To Be Apart

Saturday 17th of August join Somewhere to celebrate Remembering Together, REFLECT. At Tobermory Church & Hall and is a chance to look back together at Lockdown on Mull.

3.00pm to 5.30pm Church Hall - Gifting Flowers, working with flowers from local gardens come and make a posy, have a cuppa, some cake & chat.

6.00pm Tobermory Church - Special screening of 'Islands In Film' introduced by Alasdair & Georgia Satchel

This event is one of four community days which mark the end of the REFLECT Remembering Together community artist commissions across Argyll & Bute.
If you can not attend in person, CHArts Argyll and Isles will host a live stream on the day, linking the various artists, projects and communities.

REFLECT, Remembering Together is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered by Greenspace Scotland in partnership with Argyll and Bute Council and the Culture, Heritage & Arts Assembly, Argyll & Isles (CHARTS).

This is a brilliant intiative! Well done Campbeltown Picture House

Our Pay it Forward Ticket Scheme has helped so many people over the school holidays. Many families found it useful to take the pressure off a trip out to the cinema. Thank you so much to everyone who bought tickets and who used tickets.

We're continuing it on and continuing to send tickets around to relevant organisations in town to distribute.

Thanks again! Let's keep this going. I'm so proud of our cinema and the community who keep it for everyone to enjoy!

Get ready for a diverse range of cinematic experiences at Sea Change 2024! 🎥🎉

The One Bum Cinema Club will be presenting a unique spectacle on Tiree with their small scale 'one bum at a time' cinema. Visitors can take turns to enjoy locally produced animations curated in partnership with Animation Scotland.

Experience global cinema on the big screen in our intimate island setting with a specially selected trio of international dramas focusing on women who defy conventions across three continents: Banel & Adama (Senegal), Paradise is Burning (Sweden), and Girls Will Be Girls (India)

Don't miss our closing night event! 🎥🎶🎉

Join us for an exclusive screening of "Out Loud," a film directed by Maureen MacLeod.

The documentary "Kim Carnie Out Loud" follows Kim, who spent six years in a secret same-sex relationship. The film explores the challenges faced by LGBTQ+ individuals who have had to hide their sexuality, while also celebrating the joy of being gay. It won the award for Best LGBT Film at the Swedish Film Awards.

After the screening, you'll have the chance to participate in a Q&A session with the director and the star of the film, Kim Carnie.

Then, get ready for an electrifying live set from Kim and her band. We hope to see you there! 🙌

We are delighted to announce our programme for this year’s Sea Change Film Festival, on the Isle of Tiree from Friday 20th - Sunday 22nd September 2024 🎉

Sea Change Film Festival 2024 has a big heart, sharing stories of humanity and community. Sea Change celebrates women in film, this year with a spotlight on documentary film.

Everyone is invited to join us as we bring the works of filmmakers from Scotland, the UK and across the globe to the big screen in our intimate island setting.

⭐ Celebrate stories of women defying convention with a curated collection of feature films from around the world, including the Senegalese romance "Banel & Adama" directed by Ramata-Toulaye Sy.

⭐ An array of brilliant short films, from Seaweed and Eel Fishing through to childcare and motherhood, including "White Horses" by Meg Wriggles

⭐ The first appearance of One Bum Cinema Club on Tiree, where they will bring their distinctive small-scale entertainment and excitement to the Hebrides for the very first time.

PAY IT FORWARD TICKET SCHEME

Our Pay it Forward Ticket Scheme has proved a smashing benefit for some families so far. As the school holidays continue and the need to provide activities to keep everyone occupied persists please don't be shy about using the pre-paid tickets on our notice board.

We have sent around half of them out to various local organisations to pass on to the folk they work with. If you have an organisation and we haven't got to you yet, give us a nudge and we'll send some over!
