REFRESHING THE FLOWER FESTIVAL – NATURE & CREATION

It has been agreed next time (2025) to involve creative crafts, by this we mean paintings, textiles, tapestries, embroidery, knitting, quilting or anything else along these lines. These could either link with flowers, or be stand alone displays. These items could be old or newly created.

With this in mind, we would like to start now to create a garland of knitted or crocheted little flowers to hang around the church and to be used at every Flower Festival. Hazel and Sara Burrows have kindly agreed to hold a Knitting Work Shop at 10.30am in St. Breward Church on Friday, 23rd February.

Refreshments will be provided.

The flowers are very basic so no previous knitting experience is needed. If possible could you bring knitting needles, suggested size 8 – 10 (old UK sizing), which is 3.25mm – 4.00mm. Also any double knitting wool oddments in colours suitable for flowers.

If there are any knitters who could come along, whether or not they want to be involved in creatinG the flowers, to show people how to cast on and off and the basic stitch that would be tremendously helpful.

This should be a fun session and set you off to creating little flowers from time to time as the mood takes you.

Wow just Wow - what a great evening we have had at the Murder Mystery Part Deux ! Great thanks to Chris Batters and the Murder by Appointment actors and to Moorland Grill for the lovely pasties.
