Battenberg 51 - BCB 106.6fm 27.10.24 at 11.00 a.m.

This week's show is presented by Richard Sara and Adele Best.

Adele starts the show with 'Hurricanes and Climate Change'. With over a month to go in this year's Hurricane season there are very few letters left to name them with. 15 so far and Oscar is on his way.

Richard definitely needs a reason to get out of bed in the morning! Maybe 'Ikigai' (the Japanese secret to a long and happy life) will help?

'Ghosts'? At Halloween? Who would have thought! Adele believes, do you?

The show is baked and is giving off a lovely 'Smell'. From Jilly Gooden to smelly blokes. Olfactory Sensory Neurons anyone?

Introductory Square music by:

Kate Bush - Hello Earth
Elbow - One Day Like This
Ella Henderson - Ghost
Cranberries - Wake Up and Smell The Coffee

This month we spoke with David, our Finance Assistant, about the differences in work culture between Nigeria and Bradford. Last up, Cain and Paul from the MAPA Cultural Arts Centre chatted about the history of MAPA and their new mural honouring Mikey Roots, the late legend of Bradford’s Black community.

This week's Battenberg from 11am is co-presented by Jane Gamble and Richard Sara.

To start the show Jane asks us to use our Precuneus to make sure we are looking at 'The Real Thing' as there ain't nothing like it!

Richard bemoans the subjective nature of 'Judging'. From 3 boxing judges to 12 of our peers. It's all subjective? and therefore is it fair?

'Women on Plates'? Which women of greatness would you nominate for the honour?

The show ends appropriately with 'Famous Last Words'. Spike Milligan and Jack Lemmon both have great gravestones. What would you have on yours?

Introductory Square music -

Marvin Gaye and Tammy Tyrrell - Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing
The Clash - I Fought The Law
Eurythmics Featuring Aretha Franklyn - Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves
My Chemical Romance - Famous Last Words
