Feeling chuffed - a handful of 1st prizes, a couple of 2nds and much to my surprise 2 cups for my flowers and flower arranging!

It appears many people share my Dahlia obsession. I've always loved growing stuff at home and on our Allotment in Bower Ashton. This little pat on the back gave me a boost to carry on even when the weeds take over!

Delighted to be asked by North Bristol NHS Trust to design a Thank You card for International Nurses' Day.
Cardtastic are known for our small square cards so this is our biggest card to date!
What a lovely project to be involved with to celebrate the amazing work of all the NBT nurses.

Here's Chief Nursing Officer, Professor Steve Hams ready to deliver the card to the wards today to celebrate

I've always loved Dahlia but this year turned into an obsession! I dug over a strip of spare land at the edge of the veg patch for a Dahlia border. Spotted tubers Marshalls Garden sale plus in the bargain basket for £1 / packet Middlecombe Nursery - couldn't choose which colours so at that price bought them all! I was late to plant out at the end of July but they've flowered right up until mid November... picking bunches to give friends made me happy...

This shot was taken at the end of October. I picked the last of the flower heads and have been drying them out in silica crystals. The delicate dried flower heads will be used for photoshoots and my Christmas wreath which I'll be making tomorrow...

Chilli con carne bubbling away on top of the stove, kettle whistling and jacket spud popped in the embers. A candlelit, camp style supper was fun but the novelty would soon wear off - happy the power has just come back ON…

Sending positive vibes to all my card buddies exhibiting at the NEC this week. Sadly the wrong positive at Cardtastic as covid hit HQ last week. When contemplating booking a stand it's almost like I knew it wasn't meant to be this time... I like to think we're a family business but getting the young Brayshaw boys to run the show is one step too far!

| M U R M U R A T I O N | Eking out the last day of the holidays - a sunset trip down the road to #rspbhamwall did not disappoint! Out of all the places I've visited in the world I can't believe I haven't seen this incredible sight just down the road on the Somerset Levels. It was magical.

We’ve gone ping pong crazy - last weeks inset day Ross and I walked along Bristol Harbourside in the search of table tennis tables dotted around the city. A lot of them have moved but eventually found one on Millennium square… happy days.
