A Christmas Carol coming to a venue near you.

I had the pleasure of visiting Briar House Barns Wedding & Corporate Venue recently (you'll be able to read all about it in the next issue) and it really is an amazing place.

See post for full details of this production.

“I don’t know what to do! I am as light as a feather, I am as happy as an angel… A merry Christmas to every-body!”
Get into the Christmas spirit with The Duke’s Theatre Company's first indoor season; a nail-biting retelling of perhaps the most famous ghost story of all time, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. An industry leading company of five professional actors transport us to Victorian London in a new adaptation featuring original music, theatrical magic and beautiful lighting.

This new commission is authored by Jolyon Coy, (The Windsors, The Deep Blue Sea, Midsomer Murders) with direction by Katie Beard and Bobby Delaney (Zog and the Flying Doctors UK Tour, Annie West End, Spamalot West End, National Youth Theatre, The History Boys, The Baddies UK Tour).

A Christmas Carol burst into literary history in the Winter of 1843 and has been adapted and retold thousands of times since. The heart-warming story of redemption touches all of us as we moved by the plight of Tiny Tim, the Cratchits and Scrooge’s own hopes and fears. Framed by the spooky goings on of Victorian Spiritualism, this musical adaptation will keep you jumping in your seats and whistling all the way home. Can Christmas cheer transform this “ squeezing, wrenching, grasping, scraping, clutching, covetous, old sinner!”...?

We hope so...

“There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humour.”

This performance of A Christmas Carol takes place in the beautiful indoor space at Briar House Barns, Dewlands Hill, Rotherfield, TN6 3RU on:

Friday 27th December - 7pm
Saturday 28th December – 2pm & 5pm
Sunday 29th December - 5pm

Doors open 1 hour before for pre-performance drinks.

Stop food going to landfill, visit the Crowborough Community Pantry on Walshes Road. You can make a donation in exchange whatever goodies are available. It’s a great community resource and good for the environment 🤗

New today at the Pantry! 🎉👏
With thanks to Crowborough Town Council for kindly giving us a £1000 grant towards this new chiller (and with thanks to our lovely visitors whose cash donations topped this up to the amount needed).

With ongoing donations (to go towards rent, electricity, insurance, volunteer training, the station project fundraising for our future home etc) and grant applications (for items such as chiller, freezer, display storage crates/racking, Pantry signage etc) we can continue to develop and grow.

Please note volunteers continue to give their time and fuel costs for free.
Thank you to all our visitors, volunteers, grant-providers and donors for your support 🥰
