Big love for Asomvel, we worked hard on this right through December, great to see the album out already and doing so well
Thanks for all the hype around the new album so far today! The ASOMVEL ARMY has never been louder, and you guys are the whole reason we’re seeing so much success right now! We opened up pre-orders before even recording the album last year, and it’s because of your pre-orders that we were able to fund this entire release independently; it’s unheard of!!!
We’ve enjoyed so much of what we’ve been doing this past year, putting new music out directly to you, with no barrier between the band and the fans, replying to all your comments, sharing our journey with you, and now getting ready to see your horrible faces at shows kicking off in April!
We’re playing Bloodstock, Barcelona Rock Fest; stuff we could have only dreamt of! We’re even supporting our heroes, The Wildhearts at their exclusive comeback show in London! This has all been possible because of the massive support you show us on a daily basis, sharing our stuff to reach new people, leaving comments, buying merch, it’s leading to these incredible opportunities and we can’t thank you enough!
We’re able to do what we love, at a high level, IN SPITE of the fact that “the industry” hasn’t fully embraced us, doesn’t want a bar of it, or just wishes that we’d go away quietly! We’re showing what an independent band can do when the fanbase is pushing us on as hard as you guys are. We’re not meant to follow the same path as every other band, playing the same little game… we’re destined for bigger and better things than any of these small-minded mid-level label executives could possibly comprehend, with their lack of vision.
This album is for the underdog, for everybody who’s had countless doors slammed in their face and been told they’re no good, and still refused to let their dream die. For everybody who still believes in their own ability to win in the face of the most overwhelming odds.
If you’re feeling like you need to remember who you are and what you’re fighting for, stick this album on and it will remind you, it’ll fire you up when the tank is empty and push you on to do things nobody thought possible.
That’s the energy we put into this record, years of mockery, derision, setbacks, and tragedy, all overcome in victorious fashion, and we’re proud to still be standing here over 30 years later telling the naysayers that they’re wrong. Jay-Jay Winter would be proud too, and we’ll never quit, never surrender, because he never would either.
Born to Rock ‘n’ Roll is the start of a new era for ASOMVEL, regular album and single releases, a whole load of touring, bigger festivals, and bigger opportunities!
