What's Storyboarding? 🤔
Storyboarding is like creating a visual script for a film or video project. It's where creativity meets strategy, and it plays a pivotal role in the pre-production phase.
👁️🗨️ Visualisation: Creative projects and especially videos can be puzzles and storyboarding is where you piece them together. It helps you visualize each scene, frame by frame, and decide how the story unfolds.
🎯 Precision Planning: Every shot, angle, and camera movement is meticulously planned. This ensures that when the cameras start rolling, everyone knows exactly what to do, saving time and resources.

Ever wondered how actors seem to be in far-off worlds or incredible locations? Chances are they aren't really on Coruscant. 🌍 Thanks to the magic of green screens! (or blue screens...) 🟢✨
🎥 Fact: Green screens (or chroma key) are used to replace the green background with any backdrop you can imagine. Here's how it works:
Capture Footage: Film your actors against a bright green backdrop. Why green? Because it's a color less likely to match human skin tones. Sometimes it's blue, for the same reason. (This can be a challenge for the promo material we shoot for Panto as there are lots of these colours in the costumes! )
Digital Sorcery: In post-production, software identifies the green color and replaces it with the new background—be it a bustling city, a serene beach, or a fantasy realm.
Seamless Integration: With the green background gone, the actors appear as if they're really in the new environment. It's like teleportation without the science fiction!
Star Wars Episode 1 - which I saw in the cinema back in 1999 - uses a HUGE amount of this technique and so have weather-reporters on TV for decades!

Was privileged to work with the mighty to film their production of Sherlock Holmes: The Valley of Fear. A complex production, this involved coverage on five cameras, two of them operated, it was a fantastic collaboration with .services and with on sound. We aimed to deliver a high quality cinematic experience that did justice to the play whilst retaining the show's qualities as a theatrical production.
Wishing heaps of luck to Midas Theatre and their sizzling production of Murder Ballad. I was lucky enough to snap some rehearsals last week. Absolutely astonishing talent Thomas and his team. Opens this week at Wokingham Theatre.

We have been working with for over 10 years (!). Recently we were asked to shoot some interviews with the cast and creative team of their recent production of Frankenstein. The goal was for the shots to feel cinematic and to mirror some of the visual tones of the play. We even managed to film a Lighting Designer in his natural habitat, I think even David Attenborough would struggle with that. The content was produced for 'HUB' - Blackeyed's Digital Learning resource tool. #
