I know it doesn't seem like there's much to celebrate right now so I am cheering the fact that we supported two clients who picked up three Awards last week
We are all creators, in work and life. It is oxygen for the soul.
Some good guidance in here. Anyone who has worked with influencers knows that it's a time consuming business finding the right people to work with, and there is little in terms of standardisation on fees. As more bloggers move to instagram if you find someone who is a good fit, has a website, writes well and has good engagement on their social media channels (not just Instagram) then nurture and cherish them.
You certainly learn by doing in this arena and there are no short cuts.
I would add -do ask your influencer if they are using paid partnership tools. https://www.digitaldoughnut.com/articles/2020/august-2020/what-is-influencer-fraud-and-how-can-you-avoid-it?feed=Articles-Digital-Doughnut
Those helming brands in this environment face the most critical challenge of their careers – as they attempt to navigate from a business and a brand reputation perspective. Nowhere is that responsibility greater than in communication.
This is a good summary of what many of us are experiencing and it really will challenge those businesses who cling to the old way of working. Like many I am questioning what I was even thinking spending five hours in the car to attend a two hour meeting.
Working from home is the disruption our industry needs. From PR Week
It’s so important to keep learning and moving forward it makes us feel alive, it keeps us creative and enables us to add value. My current reading is Brendon Burchard’s High Performance Habits. Life in lockdown has unexpected gifts.
How has life changed for you? Are there unexpected gifts of being in quarantine? Do you have any tips for thriving whilst in lockdown? For me it's an early morning walk before I start work. Nature gives me some perspective and reminds me that there is still a lot to be thankful for.
Interesting to watch how leaders and brands are behaving right now. From the ones filled with fear who made people redundant as soon as their businesses took a dip to those who truly value their staff and their customers and are showing leadership, courage and love. Those that have rallied in support of key workers changing their manufacturing, and helping in every way possible - you make my heart sing and offer hope and inspiration to us all. Thank you.
I personally don't think we will return to a working world as we knew it. There will be massive changes as people reflect and prioritise their values when we come through this. In the meantime our hearts ache for everyone that is suffering the loss of a loved one. It's too early to talk about the business recovery but I urge those brands and companies who are in a position to help to stop worrying about their numbers and the bottom-line in the short term and take action. We need to come together, to help wherever and however we can.
And rightly so....
