Hi

Unfortunately , despite my best efforts , exams scheduled for wc 23rd November will not take place

They have been rescheduled to wc 14th December on the Monday and Tuesday with the caveat that not only do we come out of lockdown but we are not in one of the higher tiers when we do so

As always there is the option to switch to recorded or digital. Please see the LCM website if this is your preferred option

Hope everyone is keeping well. I’ve a little bit of clarification re exams but obviously it is limited until Government plans re the relaxation of lockdown are known

Any Spring exams that didn’t happen can be taken as a recorded exam ( get in touch if you want more detail ) or moved forward to tne summer session

Summer session closing date is now June 15th.

Exams could take place in July or August or perhaps even September

London College of Music Examinations

COVID-19 update – 18 March

Further to the Government’s recent announcement we have decided to postpone all music and drama exams at all public and private centres within the UK from today until further notice.

This difficult decision has been made in everyone’s best interest and we thank you for your support and understanding.

In response to this we are introducing some alternative means of assessment. This will include an enhanced platform to upload a recorded Performance Award as well as the provision of full graded exams online. Both of these options have been approved by Ofqual, CCEA and Qualifications Wales.

Please bear with us as we finalise the arrangements. We will keep you all posted on the full details around these developments, but be assured we intend to carry on in every way we can.

All scheduled exams are currently going ahead as planned however for those taking place at the Hexagon please be aware that there will be no waiting facilities available for anyone attending - we are respectfully asking parents to deliver their child to the front door where they will be met by a member of staff and then chaperoned until their exam time. Teachers will still be able to warm candidates up prior to an exam. A member of staff will also wait at the door with the child to ensure they are collected by their parent / guardian

This is a measure to reduce the number of people entering the Hexagon building. We have approximately 25 exams tomorrow so it’s not an insignificant number

We appreciate that this is a bit of a change and if anyone has any concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me

I know we haven’t quite finished the Winter session yet , and I’m looking forward to seeing many of you on Monday & Tuesday but I’m trying to plan for Spring. Easter is quite late and all schools break up around the 3rd April until the 17th April. So to avoid having to run exams in the 1st week back I’m proposing last 2 weeks of March - I know a number of teachers have asked about weekend availability could you vote and let me know your thoughts re this

I need to get a set together for a vocal harmony quintet of 50’s and 60’s music
