New mama?
Thula Mama is a baby group that's not really for the baby at all. It's for you. We sing in harmony and it feels good. And that's it really.
And your tiny person can sleep right through the session if they like. There's no such thing as "too young for Thula Mama" - join us as soon as you're ready to leave the house. Thula is here for you. The 'you' that suddenly disappeared when that gorgeous tiny person arrived in your life and changed everything. The 'you' that suddenly switched over from having a life, to being a a life-support system.
We sit and we sing with other Mamas who know just how hard it is. And it feels lovely to do something for YOU. To learn simple songs and make something beautiful, with people who GET IT. Mums and babies - precrawlers only. No toddlers on the loose. No toys being shared - in fact nothing being shared. And windows are open, surfaces are sanitised, masks are on the WHOLE time, we sit in marked, distanced positions, we bring our own drinks and cushions.
And everyone can do this. I know singing in front of others is a vulnerable thing - but you're not going to be singing on your own. We're all doing this together. And trust me, those beautiful songs will stick, and you'll take them home in your head, and suddenly you'll find that you, and your family, have a whole new repertoire to sing when that babe won't sleep.
And for almost ten years now I've had the wonderful job of sitting in the middle, holding the space, guiding the singing, making the circle feel safe and inclusive and creating that tingly magic that comes from harmony singing. And who am I? I'm Liz Powers. A qualified music teacher. A trained choir director. More importantly, a mum. And what makes me think you'd enjoy Thula Mama? The women tell me so.

Looking forward to singing with you,
Liz x
