How unusual to find the words "Type text or a website address or translate a document." in the middle of a segment when reviewing a poor translation about holiday destinations in France. Now where have I seen this sentence before?

So very true!

Ahhhh, I do love being asked to work for free after agreeing a minimum rate job with an agency
"Ok, I’ll send you the file for review tomorrow. As you charge a min rate for this, would you please do me a favor and check our future English website for free?"

Ladies and Gentlemen, have any of you ever worked for The Big Word? If so, what have your experiences been like?

A very useful link, I believe, for both translators and interpreters: a list of EU glossaries in various fields, from banking to agriculture, aviation to education etc.http://ec.europa.eu/translation/english/guidelines/documents/glossaries_on_europa_en.pdf

I've just received this little gem in my inbox:
"Hello, I have an urgent proofreading task, I am emailing to see if you could complete this for me?
Details are :
Word count: 36654
Specialism: Marketing
Due out : ASAP
Deadline: 3pm (GMT) today."

That's around 12,000 words per hour to proofread! I'm sure I could do a thorough job in that amount of time
