This time last year, in-person teaching on my Master's degree was suspended as we were thrown into the unknown of lockdown.

As strange a time it was, I'm so delighted to have come out the other side having achieved a Distinction!

I debated posting this, but the biggest lesson I took away from my News Journalism course was to have confidence in myself and my abilities.

There were some really low moments last year, but working towards this was one of the best parts, and I'm really proud of my attainment 🥳

Has it really been eight months since I posted on this page? That's poor form from me, so here's an update on what's changed!

I spent most of lockdown writing coursework, revising, and then sitting exams for my Master's degree and my NCTJ qualification.

I'm pleased to say that I passed everything with great results!

When that was done I submitted my NCTJ portfolio, the final step towards getting that 'gold standard' diploma from the NCTJ... I was thrilled to see I got an A grade on this.

Then, my dissertation... I absolutley loved working on this project. I investigated the ethics of true crime podcasts, specifically focusing on Shreds: Murder in the docks. If you haven't listened yet - do!

Through this I've made some wonderful contacts, and I'm really proud of the work I produced.

Finally, and what I'm most excited to share with you all is that today was my first day working for Nub News, covering Cowbridge, Barry and Penarth. Keep your eyes peeled for my work on your timeline, and likes and comments are always appreciated.
