'This Is The Last Time' is a song originally by UK band Keane and released in 2003. It was a track on our suggestions list for quite some time, until we found the perfect opportunity for it, releasing it in 2012 by our very own 'Deja Vu Feat. Tasmin', it was also the title for the 2012 Deja Vu compilation album!

One of the jobs we've been working on behind the scenes, is going through literally thousands of our studio DAT tapes from over the years and recording them onto more manageable formats. This is an extremely time consuming task as all have to be recorded in realtime, but very interesting at the same time!!

We recently came across this Almighty original track again, 'Utopia - Garden Of Eden' which we believe was only really on 12" vinyl and also this album from 1994:

We remember when DATs were some of the latest technology, which seems silly in today's world!

What is a DAT?
DAT stands for Digital Audio Tape. It's a magnetic tape format for digital audio recording and playback. Introduced in the late 1980's, it was mostly used in studios and by professional audio engineers for high-quality recordings. They offered advantages over analog tapes, such as better sound quality, audio track selection and reduced degradation of sound over time. Due to the high cost at the time, they never took off like cassette tapes and the technology of CD format quickly came along to overtake!

'Voulez-Vous' was taken from ABBA's album of the same name and was released in 1979.
The title translates from French into English as “Do you want to…?”, implying the excitement and energy of meeting someone new and being attracted to them, while the song captures the carefree and lively spirit of disco music, which was popular during the time of its release.

'Run' was a huge hit for Snow Patrol in 2003, which was elevated to a new level by Leona Lewis a few years later in 2007, after being performed on the X Factor.

After hearing Leona Lewis' version, we instantly wanted to cover this track, which was completed by Jamie Knight in 2009.

First released in 1996 as ALMY081, 'Hypnotic Tango' was the B-Side to the original A-Side 'It's My Life'

When we first did this track everybody thought we were mad, as it was so obscure...but it quickly became an Almighty classic!

The original mix still sounds fantastic having been mixed in Mike Stock's SSL studio at PWL, thanks to Pete Waterman who allowed us to use this facility at that time 🎚🎛🔈

We're very sad to hear about the passing of vocalist Linda Lewis yesterday.
She was the session singer on our version of 'Make It With You', by Rochelle, and what a fantastic voice she had. Very sad news.

For those of you who want to reminisce and take a listen, it was only featured on one album 'Almighty 12 Inches Volume 7' (ALMYCD12) in 1995, and for a brief period as an MP3 download in 2006, which was a slight variation of the same mix but with some additional backing vocals!
