Welcome to our guest editor for ISSUE THREE - Nasim Luczaj

So pleased to announce that Nasim Luczaj will be joining us to edit ISSUE THREE, which will be out this Spring.

She is the author of 'HIND MOUTH', a pamphlet for the Earthbound Poetry Series, and her work has appeared in the anthology 'the weird folds: everyday poems from the anthropocene'. Her new pamphlet 'Enskyment' is forthcoming with OrangeApple Press, and keep your eyes peeled for a first full-length collection! A generous selection of her poems can also be read in ISSUE TWO of Wet Grain.

Nasim Luczaj reads BREAK, SAY, & AJAR

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMClgvzcHdg

Delighted to showcase this filmed reading of Nasim performing her poems 'Break', 'Say' and 'Ajar' from issue two.

Nasim’s poems in issue two reflect her work as a producer of electronic music and life model, emerging from a poetics that it always synthesising, linguistically and conceptually agile, and questioning the many natures of conscious experience and the self in all its environments. Her pamphlet Hind Mouth is available with Earthbound. Her artist’s book SWAT SIGHT came out in 2019.

Issue #2 is out now. Read more by Nasim and many other wonderful writers: https://wetgrain.co.uk/

Angus Reid translates Rimbaud’s ‘Sensation’

This translation of ‘Sensation’ for Wet Grain gives new elegiac significance to Rimbaud’s 1870 ode to youth and freedom. With a sensitivity to the voice and vision of the original, ‘Feeling’ invites us to ask what vital human qualities we take with us through life’s many departures.

Angus Reid is a Scottish artist, writer, and film-maker. Recent books of poetry include The Book of Days (2012) and The History of Art in 100 Limericks (2018)

You can read the translation along with other liberating poetry here for just £5: https://wetgrain.co.uk/buy

Kirsty Dunlop - I wanted so much just to be

Dunlop’s ‘I wanted so much just be,’ garners its gale force from the undulating metrics of a spring tide and sings of the dissolution of desire with the tones of its rising swell.

Kirsty Dunlop writes poetry, short fiction, electronic literature, and collaborative work. Recent work includes a broadside collaboration with the poet nicky melville, THE FACT THAT, forthcoming from GONG FARM.

Anthony Daly - -adreamandnow- | -before, between, and after a drink-

With their ear for vernacular and the sound prints of the idyl, Anthony Daly ’s poems for issue one become pastoral jam sessions, syncopated by the crack of hot wood and soloed over by the jack-knife vocals of wild children.

Daly calls his work slanted imagist. He has a collaborative pamphlet forthcoming with adjacent pineapple.

To read his work and that of loads of other unique and insightful poets, get a copy of issue one (w. one of a kind, handprinted cover artwork!) for just £5 here https://wetgrain.co.uk/

Elle Heedles - White Noise | Last Summer

We’re excited to mark the launch of Wet Grain Issue One with a series of filmed readings.

Elle Heedles’s poems scramble still moments with dazzling leaps of memory and the imagination. They thole the long grief, revel in ephemeral infatuation, and grapple with the involuntary jerks they bring to bear on perception.

Their poems have appeared in Pain, The Inkwell, adjacent pineapple, and elsewhere, and are forthcoming in the Northwest Review and Popshot.

You can get your copy of issue one here:
