This week I was lucky enough to have a trip down to Oakham in Rutland to film one of Britain’s top racehorses, Big Evs, ahead of his much anticipated return to Royal Ascot next week, for the British Champions Series.

It was a filming only job, with editing done in-house by BCS. Always interesting to see how my footage has been used – and great to see a really nice job by their editor!

North Yorkshire small businesses are set to benefit from £1 million in funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available to small and micro businesses to increase business growth, productivity and resilience.

Alex Brown, a videographer based in Selby, who has been awarded a £4,300 grant, said: “I’ve had two jobs already that I simply wouldn’t have been able to do had I not had the funding, so that’s great.”

It was a cold, early start on Thursday morning to shoot this video for Great British Racing International, but well worth it to get some amazing footage of this beautiful racehorse exercising at dawn, on the snow covered hills above Malton.

I absolutely loved making this video for the British Champions Series recently. It was lovely to meet Paige and to see how devoted she is to Shaquille, and the care and love that goes into looking after this beautiful horse.

I'd say Shaquille might be worth a flutter in his big race this weekend, although as favourite to win, you aren't likely to make a fortune!

Here's one of my latest videos, and something a little different for me.

The purpose of the video is to help those attending screening assessments at Everything Autism to get a good idea of where they will be going, and the process involved, in order to prevent anxiety on their visit.

The Everything Autism team were lovely to work with, and it was wonderful to see how much care they put into making the process as easy as possible for the families they work with.

The video had to be straightforward, precise and clear, so I had to hold back the temptation to make it too 'arty' – using a cinematic shallow depth of field with blurry backgrounds, for example, isn't going to help someone who wants to see exactly where they will be going.

It's really nice as well to be able to make a video which will hopefully make a positive difference.

I was honoured to film and produce ten music videos for this year's Big Christmas Care Singalong for Big Ian Donaghy featuring various singers and musicians.

All recorded at the beautiful Hornington Manor near Tadcaster, with sound mixed by Will Gurrey, it was a lovely day of festive filming. They are now part of this hour-long programme (which I helped edit too), celebrating those working and living in care around the world.
