Summer is absolutely obsessed with 🦎 Iguanas Bananas 🍌!!! It's a paper back picture book, full of vibrant colours. I've found using books with some words she can already say really helps her get in to the story and learn the following words. "Cup" was Summers first new words using this book, and she can identify and point them out now in every day life.

Coincidentally (or not 🤣), this is a phonics book! So its designed to help children in the comprehension of reading. The phonics range is brilliant 🧡

💜 Getting festive yesterday after our Kids Creations session 🎄 the bold outlines are ideal for helping children to stay in the line, and focus on the picture rather than there be too much fuss on the page. We used paint sticks this time, but also like (washable!) Felt tips, crayons, colouring pencils and pens! ✏🖋🖊🖌🖍 Lots of media can be used because the pages are quite dense as opposed to a lot of colouring books.

There's a lovely range to choose from 😊

💗🦌 The Lift the Flap Hide and Seek books are amazing! Summer is beautifully demonstrating the Reindeer one before it's time to start getting ready for bed. It's been a lovely way to wind down, sitting by the christmas tree and identifying the different animals.

I always talk about what's happening, the emotions you can see in the faces on the pictures, what's happening in the surrounding images, what might come next etc. These are all things which your children will do at school, because it's about learning the context of things too and developing a wider understanding. So although she is very young for this, it will help with her speech development and learning to be more confident in identify images.

She really likes the book ❤ I'm so pleased because I LOVE reindeers! 🦌

World 🚽 day! We are attempting potty training for Summer so it's quite the timing 😆 and we do have Why do we need a potty? On order. As Summer doesn't have a sibling yet, I hoped seeing pictures of other kids using the potty in a positive way may help her learn and normalise it. It's a hardback book with lots of flaps so it is interactive and sure to keep her entertained whilst I've got her say on the potty 🤣🚽

My name is Natalie, and I’ve recently started my Usborne journey as an Independent Organiser. I decided to do this because my daughter, who is 2 years old, loves books! This is something I want to encourage having worked as a primary school teaching assistant, I have seen first hand the benefit of books for children. Of course, I also love books myself and have done so for as far back as I can remember.

I enjoy helping others thrive and discover, and I feel the Usborne books are ideal in supporting and encouraging this due to the different sensory options, curriculum links, creative opportunities and the variety of fiction and none fiction presented in the most beautiful ways.

I am a stay at home Mum, looking after my daughter and our dog Pepper. Myself and my husband are expecting our second child in March, another girl!
