What we’re all about ...
It does what it says on the tin . . . an hour-long radio programme on Beverley FM every Thursday night from 8 - 9pm, playing the blues, the whole blues and nothing but the blues. Classic blues, country blues, electric blues; everything is there with a little gospel and zydeco thrown in for good measure.
Pure Blues is presented by Roy Woodcock, who got turned on to this great music during the blues boom of the 1960s, listening to the likes of the Rolling Stones, Yardbirds and The Animals and then tracing their influences back to people like Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf and beyond.
You’ll hear tracks rare and some not so rare from a century of this great music plus current releases, proving the blues is alive and well and still influencing artists of the present day.
