Creating visual content that challenges stereotypes and cultural constructs around gender, identity and sexuality is something that we believe in here at Donut Films! And when others appreciate our work we are even more comittmed to tell those stories . Congratulations to Thelma! She walked away with Best Child Actor at Merced Q***r Film Festival.

Thelma was joint lead actor in our latest short CARTWHEEL .
She was an absolute joy on set, funny, patient and willing. This is her first film and doesn’t have any formal training . She certainly shines bright 🤩😍🤩

Not one but two screenings at CARTWHEEL is a short film by Jane Marlow that tells the story of a women reconnecting with her inner child. THEY THEM US is a TV pilot set in London. introducing us to a group of young frienfindinging they way in life, love, friendship whilst exploring their gender, sexuality and identity .

Underwire is the UK’s only festival celebrating female filmmaking talent. It’s so exciting to think that we might actually be back at a physical festival next year celebrating the amazing work women do in film!
