We are down to 16 clubs in both the FA Vase and the FA Trophy. If the weather holds we will see 8 in each through to the Quarter Finals this weekend. Phil Annets gives his insight into the competition and we have a rare interview with the Chairman of Falmouth Town who head overseas in numbers for their tie at Jersey Boys. Plus Matt Badcock is on hand with the news and preview of the weekend’s The Non-League Paper

We’ve reached round 5 in both the FA Trophy and the FA Vase. 16 clubs left in each competition 8 ties apiece to get through, with the weather looking to play a hand in that.

They are 27 games without a win in the Western League Division One this season, that’s a record they aren’t proud of but they are proud of the way they do things, led by Chairman George Williams, who still, after over 50 years involved in the club, has been out in the cold this week ensuring the mower works to get the pitch cut. One of non league’s legends as is Barnet’s boss Dean Brennan whose side face table-toppers in this weekend’s National League TV game.

The highs and lows of football spotlighted this week but also the magic of why we all do it and why we all love it.

The FA Trophy and the FA Vase reach the Fourth Round this weekend. The last 32 and the clubs still involved have every right to be distant dreaming about that Wembley final.
