I've got the 'ick'.
I've changed some things in my business and now I know I have to tell everyone about it because that's business and that's how marketing works, right?
But I've still got the ick about it. Which I know is what a lot of my clients feel when they come to me about marketing themselves. So, I'm taking a deep breath and getting on with it...
After four years, I'm retiring TinCup Social and have rebranded to Helen Baimbridge Digital. (Phew! I did it.)
When I left the NHS, I'd been planning my redundancy for about 18 months. I clearly remember joining a webinar from home that showed my post would no longer be needed following a merger. After about three hours of 'oh sh*t' I started to realise what a HUGE opportunity this was.
I researched. I knew I needed digital skills for the next stage in my career. I found an amazing course being run by the powerhouses that are Kathryn Tyler and Nikki Cochrane. The timing for the start of the course was perfect. Last day at work, three weeks off, start course.
Then, pandemic. All sorts of curve balls and in the middle of it I had to name my business and get myself set up. Cue, name that was OK then but really doesn't fit what I do now.
So now, I'm Helen Baimbridge Digital and this is what I do:
👉 Provide consultancy to organisations that need to give their social media a bit of attention. Recently, I've worked with Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust delivering a strategy development day, helping them to feel more confident that their social media activity will do what they need it to.
👉 Generate leads and awareness using paid social media advertising for charities. I've recently worked with Lymphoma Action and today a client asked me to turn off their ads early as they'd met their targets 🙌 my kinda email.
👉 Support solo business owners to build their LinkedIn presence through content creation and engagement packages, profile upgrades or training.
I LOVE that what I do now enables me to use 25+ years of communication and engagement experience in the digital world. I LOVE that I can work with purpose-driven organisations and business owners.
Generally feeling pretty happy. There. No longer feeling the ick.
Thanks to Sweeta Patel for the lovely new logo and colours. And Ruth Gilbey for lots of gentle encouragement.
