Roadworks Media: Film Production Workshop 🎥 🚧

Electric Start is a documentary and I am enormously proud to be directing. It brings to life an all to common story for many young people who often get caught up in bad decisions. It fuses the risk of potentially of reoffending and the determination of rehabilitating.

Minister of Parliament Helen Hayes for Dulwich and West Norwood visited Roadworks Media at Southwark’s youth justice building. Impressed by the workshop, she lauded the efforts to enhance diversity in the creative industry and prevent youth with challenging backgrounds from offending or reoffending. Recognising the initiative that offers a positive, creative outlet for at-risk youth.

Renowned French Baroque persona and performance artist Lara Buffard is set to grace Roadworks Media at Southwark's Youth Justice Building on 15 February 2024 from 2pm to 6pm. Buffard will lead an art workshop centered on the theme of inclusivity, aiming to empower young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and challenge the perception of art as an elitist pursuit. Her mission is to break down barriers and foster creativity among all individuals. The event holds particular significance as it aligns with Roadworks Media's commitment to bolstering diversity and inclusion in the arts industry, demonstrating the organization's vital role in nurturing talent and fostering a more equitable and inclusive creative community in Southwark.

First got introduced to Carl Weathers as a boy, when I had the chance to watch Rocky 2 before I watched the first Rocky.

Loved watching him in Predator too and it’s one of those films I can watch over and over again.

Our latest film to be worked on, tells the story of a young boy named Edward who doesn’t enjoy playing football alone. Instead, he wants to ride around on a bike with the children that live on the same estate as him.

This scene gives a little insight into what happens to Edward when he does get the bike from his Uncle.

We get this amazing opportunity called life to present our stories to the world and show case who we are in various ways. Mine is largely through visuals and that’s why I am delighted to share with you, my up and coming film called, Edward’s Bike.

Inspired by my time as a youth living on Camberwell’s Elmington Estate and partly on a dream I wish could have materialised. Nonetheless, it’s an opportunity of a life time to grab hold of a direction that is taking what can be visualised to extraordinarily revealing heights.

Providing opportunities that improve lives, engages with the community and tells stories that reflect lives of ordinary people with flaws and graces.

These stories are mine, as well as yours and that is why I share this with you. As my team and I get underway making a short drama film about courage, dedication and perseverance.

The enormous losses that can make anyone aware of, if only I had better self-management when an amazing opportunity arrived, can easily make you feel that you ought to give up. Take it as bitter/sweet pill to swallow when you realise any mistake that can linked to mismanagement and allow it to provide room for a refocus on yourself.
