From the surprising start, to all the hilarious quips: they just float room to room, they’re always standing on the balls of their feet (or are they?!😝), everyone’s called Barbie no matter what you look like (except Skipper & discontinued prego Midge) & the same for Ken, the somewhat dodgy discontinued dolls - sugar daddy Ken anyone?!! Weird Barbie! Such a cool idea! There was always that one Barbie with the cut hair!! It never grows back!! 😝 & yea she was often left in the splits!!😵💫 + so many more laughs!!
Going to the ‘Real World’, not so good for Barbie, but good to take the p**s out of male domination and the patriarchy. Good flick to take your Kens to too for a potential eye opener! & to make them think!🤔
It did feel a touch long, but that might’ve been down to the unfortunately uncomfortable and squashy movie theatre seats? Sadly also no Barbie paraphernalia! 😭 No giant pink box to pose with Barbie hands in!! 😢 Come on Covent garden!! Where’s your pink!! 🎀💓💗💖💞💕💝💘

Wow! What a very captivating and inspiring event to celebrate 70 years since Everest was conquered at the Royal Geographical Society this time last week!
The lectures/talks were part of the worldwide programme of celebrations to highlight the legacy of Everest 70 years after the first ascent.
Our Founder Tiffany Hardy was excited to head along with her connection to Everest after interviewing the legendary Sir Edmond Hillary while working as a reporter at Southland TV in New Zealand.
She had also interviewed guest speaker/Ed’s son Peter Hillary and audience member/Ed’s daughter Sarah Hillary. So it was great to speak to them & share the photos of her time with Sir Ed afterwards.
Additional bonus! She also met her third generation of Hillary, with Peter’s daughter Lilly Hillary also touring the global celebrations!
Tenzing’s son Jamling Norgay also spoke (but sadly she didn’t get to meet him) along with a number of inspiring adventurers! (More on them soon!)

Today marks 70 years since New Zealander Sir Edmund Hillary and Tibetan Tenzing Norgay became the first people to successfully climb the world's highest peak - Mount Everest in the Himalayas.
In a year of big events, Queen Elizabeth II was told of the successful Everest climb the night before her coronation!
Sir Ed and his adventures and achievements have an extra special connotation for me, as in 2006, just 2 years before he passed away, I had the honour of interviewing him as a budding reporter at Southland TV in New Zealand. We had limited time because of his health and age, but it was such an adrenaline rush!! It was a very special moment and is still a career highlight to this day.
Humble Hillary, also set up the Himalayan Trust, building schools and hospitals in Nepal and didn’t just leave his expeditions to the mountains, but also on the South and North Poles, becoming the first person to reach both poles and Mount Everest -’the three poles’ and was also part of the first team to make it across Antarctica in a vehicle - a converted tractor! He also led a jet boat expedition, titled "Ocean to Sky", from the mouth of the Ganges River up to its source.
Since my interview with him, I have read so much more about his life, adventures and “knocking the bastard off!” that I would have loved to have had more time with him, or a second go! He told me “everyone always asks him ‘What was it like’”, to which, my young, naïve, still-learning self replied, “So what was it like?”!
But there was so much more to this amazing man! Happy 70th Anniversary Sir Ed!

While trying to ‘batch’ record some ‘Tongue Twister Tuesday’ videos recently for Albane Brand Photography’s March Social Media Visibility Challenge, we soon realised our location was no good, as we tried to fight with and speak over, or in between, constant planes, trains and car noises, so much so that we started losing the natural light! (See towards the end of the video!).
So the videos were scrapped!!
But… we have revived them as a bit of a bloopers reel of how NOT to do sound!! (Please excuse the bad editing on a phone!)
When you have BAD sound, it really hits home how important GOOD sound is, and that what you’re hearing, is just as important as what you’re seeing on screen!!
So remember to think about your location in terms of the sounds that may come with it when you’re getting ready to film! - The washing machine, dryer, traffic, trains, planes, birds, the neighbour’s dog, the neighbour!
Don’t try and compete with South Western Rail and Heathrow’s schedules!

Where is your audience viewing your content?! We’ve always liked this meme, showing that you watch your TV in landscape, or horizontally, so that was the best way to film. But things have changed and adapted and so have we! With viewers moving away from TVs and desktops, to the computer in their hand and the introduction of ‘Stories’ and ‘Reels’ on social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook, it can go both ways! Now, the big question is: What are you filming it for? Where is it going to be viewed? There are still times when it is much better to film horizontally or in landscape, to streamline with the equipment or platform you are using which may prefer 16:9 - the dimensions of your TV or computer, so turn your phone on the side: - TV or Film - YouTube - LinkedIn - can be viewed both ways, but is more catered for landscape - Anything you know is going to be viewed on a computer - Videos for presentations, whether viewed on a computer or big screen or projected - Filming for corporate videos being played on websites or at events - Scenic shots - again, it depends where it’s being viewed, but it’s much nicer to view a beautiful scene - sunsets, mountains, lakes, etc in landscape (hence the name!) then you can see more of the landscape all at once! - Facebook - was more horizontal, but the increased use of phones meant lots of the video content on there is in portrait or vertical mode - & we’re not even talking about ‘Stories’ and ‘Reels’! This is also often so the same video content can be used on Instagram, or other platforms. But Facebook does lend itself to landscape videos. When to film in portrait or vertically: - Stories - Reels - Pieces to camera for social media if it’s just you talking close up and nothing in the background - we'll give you this one! If in doubt, stick with landscape! It can still be adapted, or cropped for vertical viewing if need be… Also people can turn their phones on the side for full scree
