Just a quick message from the Caulkhead Comics gang!
Thank you so much to everyone who came into the Heroes - Comics, Gaming & Collectibles shop today, talked to us, grabbed merch and Comics, got them signed and just showed us a ton of support for the Hardcore Hare #1 Christmas Variant Cover Launch
It was such a positive atmosphere and was great to see lots of people engaging, chatting and sharing our passion for comic art. A super successful day. Couldnt do this without all of you! There's still time to grab a festive Variant Cover for Hardcore Hare at the Heroes shop. Nicola will be there tomorrow 11-3. Grab your limited edition, while stocks last!

It's going to be a good day 😁

Tomorrow on Scarrots Lane (Saturday 2nd) we will be part of Step into Christmas 2023 the whole lane will be a filled to the brim with Crimbo fun 🎅

Here at the shop we are hosting a Caulkhead Comics release of a very special Christmas Variant cover for Hardcore Hare #1 plus a few other bits of BRAND NEW official merch will also be available.

That's not all, members of the Caulkhead Comic's team will also be on hand all day to sign stuff and talk about all things comics 😀

Dan Digby - Comic Art, Adam Gaterell Arts will be there to chat about art and if you want to break into comics then come and talk with the publishers Rob & Raven. Or if you are interested in comic design and marketing then find Nicky, lots of hard work goes into making comics and Caulkhead have only just gotten started 🤩

A little something we've been cooking up with Dan Digby - Comic Art 🎅🤘

So you know I told ya I was gonna work on something special...?

Well here it is... Hardcore Hare issue 1 is getting a little re-release with a special Christmas 2023 cover. There will only be a short run of these and there is a special extra little page in the back 😉

Competitions to come. More art to come. This December will be very, VERY good.

Calling all island artists of any age!

Do you have a passion for Comic Art? ✔️

Do you have a mind full of ideas? ✔️

Is your dream to have your Comic art published? ✔️

We could make your dreams come true!

Caulkhead Comics are collaborating with Meridian 3 printers to PUBLISH a COMIC BOOK which will be launched and on sale at IW-Heroes Con 3 on May the 4th 2024!

All profit from Comic sales will go to the islands Young carers Charity, through Banardos.

How you can become part of this incredible opportunity! 🤩

⚡️Design a one page story in Comic form.

⚡️This has to be an origional design with origional characters.

⚡️Submit your one page design to [email protected] with your name, age and a little bio about you and your Comic art.

⚡️This will need to be a PNG file. The Comic will be standard American size ( A4 )

⚡️Closing date for submissions is March 1st 2024. That gives you over 5 months to create your masterpiece!

There is no limit to how many times you can enter. You are welcome to submit more than 1 idea, but please note we will be choosing 20 different people with a maximum of 1 page per winner.

We will choose 20 of the best designs to become part of the finished Comic book. You will be contacted if you have been successful!

The finished Comic book will be launched and available to purchase at IW-Heroes Con 3 - May the 4th 2024 -The Quay Arts in Newport.

We would also invite all successful artists to be at the event for a special live Comic launch on stage. This is of course optional.
We will also showcase all entries on our big screen at the event. Even If you miss out on getting into the comic book your art will be on display.

Each winner will receive a framed Comic to take home 🤩

This is an incredible opportunity to get your art noticed. We will have established Comic artists at the event who you can talk to and ask advice. And....if your art and story telling is that good there is a chance that Caulkhead Comics may want to work with you on future projects.

We are very excited about this and we cannot wait to see your Creations.

Practice makes perfect ❤

Lesson: practice makes perfect.

Alot can change when you work hard and keep pushing. These 2 versions of Fox are drawn about 8 years apart. Since the first one my form and colouring have both improved massively. My style, line work, inking, colouring, shading, story telling, layouts and effects have come a long way. I said years ago that I was going to publish Fox issue 1. And now I have. I'm glad I waited until now. Because I have a book I am truly proud of.

So... don't ever say you can't draw. If you want it, go for it. Work. Practice. And you will develop the skill that you most desire.

Practice makes perfect.
