Day zero on the Quantocks … opening the four trenches at Cothelstone. The mechanical digger has gone, now we are looking forward to the arrival of the volunteer diggers as we try to unearth the secrets hidden under the soil.
Just from opening the trenches, we have already found a tea pot handle, some beautiful Romano-British sherds as well as tiny bits of Bronze Age pottery … which could be over two thousand years old!!
Excitement for the next couple of weeks is already at 11 out of 10!
