Bradley Simpson to head to Leadmill next year with his debut solo album

You may know him as the lead singer of The Vamps, but now he is solo artist, Bradley Simpson, and he’s coming to our Steel City next year.

Initially forming The Vamps in 2011, posting music on Youtube in 2012, and releasing their debut album in 2014, the band quickly rose in the charts at the height of the roar for boybands. Though still together, releasing music and touring, lead singer, Bradley Simpson, is exploring and expanding his creative boundaries by also pursuing a solo career.

Freddie is back! 🤩

The Lyceum Theatre’s legendary Mercury statue (affectionately named Freddie by Sheffield Theatres staff) has returned back to his spot atop the building’s green dome, looking over Sheffield’s skyline.

Early last year, a condition report on the statue was carried out by Sally Strachey Historic Conservation Ltd., concluding that further inspection and repairs were required.

The statue of Mercury was crafted by Wendy Wall in 1990. The figure stands around 12-foot-tall and was made using fibreglass with a layer of paint on the outside containing copper flakes. The current statue is a replica of one which adorned the Lyceum during its early years as a theatre. It is unknown when the original statue was removed, or whether it still exists, although there is suggestion that it was detached sometime after the Theatre Royal (formerly opposite the Lyceum on Tudor Square) suffered a fire in 1935 and was demolished officially in 1936.

We’re well chuffed to see Freddie back pride of place where he belongs 👋 We’ve missed him!

There’s only 4 more days to catch Come From Away UK at the Lyceum, and we’ve given it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!

Come From Away is a heartwarming musical that tells the true story of the 7,000 stranded airline passengers who were forced to land in Gander, Newfoundland and the people living there that welcomed and comforted them after the 9/11 attacks.

The narrative unfolds with humour, compassion, and the cast portrays multiple roles to highlight the diverse experiences and stories of both the townsfolk and the passengers.

We sure do look different… 👀

We’ve decided to switch up our vibe, it’s been a while.

Our original logo (last image) was designed back in 2022, and while we still love it, it felt disconnected from the style of the website and wider content that we would like to create.

So it’s out with the old and in with the new in time for summer and an extra special project 🤫

Tramlines have just announced the second wave of acts for this year’s festival, and we’re well chuffed!

Adding to the music lineup, Tramlines have treated us to The Pigeon Detectives and Balancing Act 👀

But this announcement is largely for the comedy acts, Open Arms showcase and club nights, and there isn’t half some amazing talent gracing Hillsborough this summer!
