It’s our last day at and what a week it’s been for the Take the Shot team. Meeting incredible people across the industry and sharing our story with ‘The Waterhouse’ to others. But don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere, expect much more exciting work and announcements coming soon ;)

Last year I attended the Cannes Film Festival for the first time ever. It was both mesmerising and very confusing at the same time. It is as easy to get lost here, as it is to come out evolved at the other end. It inspires you to fly and makes you more grounded, both at the same time.

When I entered the Marché du Film last year, I was slightly overwhelmed by the number of films being bought and sold. But this year, a film I produced is being screened here and is part of the many films from talented filmmakers, looking for the best route to reach their audiences worldwide!

Really thankful to my friends and colleagues at Take The Shot Films, to have made this dream a reality! Also, thanks to the incredible cast, crew and many more kind hearted folks who helped us get here.

Incredibly thankful and humbled following a successful World Premiere for our feature THE WATERHOUSE at this Halloween!

The film looked and sounded stunning on the Superscreen at and received such an enthusiastic response from the audience!

Director Producer .film and our wonderful cast did an insightful Q&A after the screening.

Many thanks to the wonderful team at FrightFest and Cineworld for organising such a wonderful world premiere for our film! 🙏

This psychological horror-thriller is our debut feature film at Take The Shot Films, produced together with Featuristic, in association with our friends at Ramaz Studios.

We are also immensely thankful for the support and contribution received from many many people and partner organisations to make this vision come to life, particularly during a period when making good independent films has not been easy.

We are thrilled to announce that our debut feature film, THE WATERHOUSE, has been selected as the opening film at FrightFest Halloween next month! The film's World Premiere will be at Cineworld Leicester Square on Friday, 27th October.

THE WATERHOUSE is a psychological thriller and is the first feature film from writer-director Samuel Clemens. It is produced by Agam Jain for Take The Shot Films, with Julien Loeffler and James Kermack for Featuristic, in association with our dear friends at Ramaz Studios.

This is a significant achievement for this project as well as our company, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication that our entire team, the cast and the crew have put into this film!

We can't wait to share this film with audiences at FrightFest and beyond. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at noon at FrightFest website, see you there if you can come and join us! :)

We are super excited to share some awesome news with you guys! Our micro-short film ‘A Bad Day To Propose’ has been picked for screening at the British Film Institute on Thursday, 8th June! 😍

This film was a crazy adventure for us and Ramaz Studios. We made it for the straight 8 film festival in 2021, where it was selected as one of the winning entries. We also did something really cool and innovative: we combined celluloid and virtual production for the first time ever at this scale for this kind of competition 😎

Our film will be shown with some of the best Straight 8 films of all time, including those by Edgar Wright in 2001 and Alice Lowe in 2007. We are so honoured and humbled to be in such amazing company and to get to meet and listen to Edgar Wright in person, along with Straight 8 jury member and filmmaker extraordinaire Asif Kapadia, and BAFTA Winner Mark Jenkin. 😊

Looking back on “A Bad Day To Propose”…
Two of our team - Samuel Clemens & Fernando Ruiz - on set of our sci-fi ultra-short looking EPIC in mid-shoot action!

Virtual production truly allows you to connect to that childhood experience of being totally immersed in an imaginary world. The technology moves the image perspective as the camera angle changes, so from fantastic aliens to surreal environments, anything can be achieved with this progressive, eco-friendly and impressive filmmaking invention.

We'll be releasing more BTS and a new cut of the film in the near future - so watch out this space!

BTS from A Bad Day to Propose, our first official foray into Virtual Production, using Unreal Engine by Epic Games. Also, shot on an ARRI Super 16 camera, using film rolls from Kodak, our special entry shot on one roll of Super8 won the prestigious Straight 8 festival this year.

This Super 8 camera is the very piece of equipment we shot our short film on, “A Bad Day To Propose”. Yesterday, it premiered as a winning entry in the TOP 8 selection in the Straight 8 Cannes Premiere along with other fantastic shorts!

Massive thank you to Straight8 team and the jury panel, and congratulations to other filmmakers! Our colleagues around the world showed unique, beautiful and inventive pieces of narrative, once again showing what a magical medium cinema is.
