So it's really been ten years since I got that horrific phone call with the news in my Bangkok Hotel room ? If I'm really honest, I *knew* what it was going to be. The only time a Hotel phone rings is to tell you that Check Out was a half hour ago.

I'd been living with you for a while before I'd returned to Thailand. All you "charged" me was making sure the fridge was full of Guiness lol. But you weren't "you". Yet I had to get home as my music festival was weeks away. I suppose we all feel some sort of guilt when the worst happens even though I know we shouldn't. We have to own our decisions and us alone. You made yours. It's irrelevant what I think about it now.

But there were lots of good times. SO, SO many good times. I could have spoken for hours at your funeral about the good in you, the generousity of spirit, that smile, your love of the sea and ships, hell you even loved my Music. But your real love was your son, wee James.

One day, I'll sit with him and tell him some of the things we got up to (I will leave some out too!) and he will know a tiny bit more about the absolute legend you are. I say are cos I hate the past tense.

And now you have my little Sister, Karen Testa to look after. I know she is in safe hands. And a lot easier to handle than me. Well a little easier ! That New York weekend we all did must go down as the funniest of my life. And that's saying something !

I miss you terribly Ste. We all do. I shall raise a glass of Gin n Tonic laters for you and Sis.

Today is "World Mental Health Day" which is 1 day in 365. ... Whilst I appreciate that it is all about awareness and so forth, people who suffer from Mental Health issues know it's a daily fight. Whilst we are a long way off being anywhere near where I believe we need to be in professional resources, I would also say that people, in general, are more than happy to take a phone call, have a Cuppa / Beer, pop round and generally just be an ear to talk to. In confidence too, if necessary. We have all lost way too many people to a word I can't bring myself to type.

PLEASE reach out if you are struggling. I PROMISE you, there are lots of people who care and can help. Big love to anybody who is struggling x

Living the dream

DJing. It really is living the dream. From that first time you drop a tune on some 1210’s on vinyl in a sweaty nightclub, to a Music Festival YOU have personally built beside a lake in Chiang May, to a chill out set on a lazy Sunday afternoon in a pals garden, or *that* moment when the crowd almost BEGS you to drop the current dance floor monster, it’s such a fu***ng buzz. Over 30 years in and I’m as passionate as ever now. And, once this madness calms down, I have some REALLY big plans. Hope you can come along for the ride.
