There are 50 million slaves in the world today. This morning we hosted a panel discussion on how human trafficking impacts young people in our society today.
Young people said:
•human trafficking changes their perceptions of what’s normal.
•human trafficking challenges young people’s relationships e.g with family.
•human trafficking can be young people getting bribed or drug running or selling counterfeit goods.
Our young people are talking. Are we going to listen and act?
Human trafficking is happening here with local people and foreign nationals and it needs to stop.
