For this week’s biweekly food shop, we decided to try Ocado—and I’m genuinely impressed. The customer service was outstanding: a few days after delivery, I received both a follow-up call and an email asking how everything went.
Delivery Experience
The delivery driver went above and beyond, bringing everything directly into the kitchen rather than leaving it at the door. All items were already organized in bags labeled for the cupboard, fridge, or freezer, which made unpacking so much easier.
Ocado also offers a bag recycling incentive, giving you 10p off your next order for each bag you return to the driver.
Discounts and Perks
Right now, Ocado provides a 30% discount on your first order, along with three months of free delivery. They also offer next-day delivery, with minimal substitutions in the orders.
Food Quality
The food quality has been fantastic—especially the pizza, which was a standout. Overall, I’d rate the experience a solid 10 out of 10.
Upcoming Plans and Updates
I’ll be placing another order on November 15, and I’ll update you on the costs. By the end of November, I’ll share my final thoughts and whether we plan to continue using Ocado.

Alayla’s story ❤️❤️

Good first aid following a burn or scald can make an enormous difference in recovery times and the severity of scarring. Two important things to remember are COOL, CALL, COVER and STOP, DROP and ROLL.
COOL, CALL, COVER
COOL the burn with cool running water for 20 minutes and remove all clothing and jewellery (unless it is melted or firmly stuck to the wound). CALL for help for any burn larger than a 50p coin: 999, 111 or local GP for advice. COVER with cling film or a clean non-fluffy dressing or cloth. Make sure the patient is kept warm.
STOP, DROP and ROLL
“Stop, drop, and roll” is used when clothing catches fire. Children can get confused about when to stop, drop, and roll. It is important to know when to do this. Only use stop, drop, and roll when clothing catches fire. STOP what you are doing, DROP to the floor and ROLL to put out the fire.

Children’s Burns Trust are seeing an increasing number of children burned by hot water bottles.
Did you know that before you use a hot water bottle you should….
➡️Check for signs of wear and tear before use
➡️Don’t use a hot water bottle more than 2 years old
➡️Look at the flower symbol on the bottle to show when it was made
➡️Never fill a hot water bottle with boiling water.
Checking how old your hot water bottle is…
The flower symbol found on hot water bottles, indicates exactly when it was made which means you can tell if it is more than two years old and should be replaced. The number in the middle is the year it was made, the flower segments represent the 12 months of the year and the dots inside those represent the number of weeks. So this hot water bottle was made in April 2021 and is more than two years old.

Today is national Burn awareness day
Children’s Burns Trusts main aim of the day is to raise the awareness of the incidence and causes of burn and scald injury in the UK, helping to reduce the number of burns and scalds occurring.
The main causes of burns and scalds are hot drinks.
30 babies and toddlers go to hospital with a hot drink burn every day. In addition to this shocking daily figure, 60% of all children attending A&E with a burn injury are due to hot drink scald.
Prevention of hot drink burns is easy using these simple rules:
• Keep hot drinks out of reach of young children – placing them at the back of the kitchen surface and never on a table cloth or cloth that hangs down so that a small child can reach and pull it down.
• Never carry a hot drink whilst carrying a baby.
• Never pass a hot drink over the heads of young children
• Avoid drinking hot drinks around small children.
