One of my most enjoyable achievements has come to an end.
RIP Smile Radio!
My recovery from throat cancer last year has been a remarkable success, (bless our NHS). However, my respect for the recovery, simply has not been. Following a rather poorly, in fact very ill two weeks, (which I am 90% recovered). I have recognised, something has to give from my 7-day-a-week work and radio balance. So Smile Radio, despite making the grade as a well-listened to DAB radio, is just too much time and work, (particularly the weekends) and has to go.
I cannot run anything less than my 100% so it is a sad goodbye from Smile and the Doc is officially retired forthwith. Whilst I continue with my enjoyable and very full time work as David.
Thank you to the SUPERB Smile team, my family, daughter Emma in SM and of course, in particular my supportive wife Tracy. Very special 'Big shout Out' too, for Smile Radio's incredible Website and IT guy Glenn [email protected] best in the world and beyond!!
