Meta is rolling out default end-to-end encryption (E2EE) starting today. This is for personal messages on Messenger and Facebook.

What is E2EE? It’s a security method that provides you with much more private and secure messaging.

E2EE means the content of your messages and calls with friends and families are *protected* from the moment they leave your device to the moment they reach the receiver’s device.

This means that NOBODY, including Meta, can see what's sent or said (unless you choose to report a message to Meta).

Along with encryption, there’s a host of other updates, making this Messenger’s BIGGEST refresh since 2011!

1️⃣ Edit Messages
- You can now edit messages that may have been sent too soon or that you'd like to edit for up to 15 minutes after sending.

2️⃣ Disappearing Messages
- These now last for 24 hours after being sent. And improvements have been made to the interface.

3️⃣ Read Receipt
- Now you can decide if you want others to see when you've read their messages.

4️⃣ Photos & Video Upgrades
- Better image quality, new fun layouts and more.

5️⃣ Voice Messaging
- Now you can play at 1.5x or 2x speeds, listen where you left off and even continue listening when you navigate away from the chat or the app!

Looks like US has been rolled out and the UK will follow soon! 😃

Today is Random acts of kindness day

Random Acts of Kindness come in all forms, large and small, and how you choose to perform yours is entirely up to you. It can start with dropping a bit of change in the cup of the homeless person along the street, or considering the time of year, providing a warm blanket to see them through. See someone looking down? Drop a hot coffee or tea on their desk with a smile and tell them to have a great day. Even just smiling at someone and wishing them a good day could have a profound impact.
