We recently took a trip down to Cambridge to visit The Oakes Sixth Form College for their Careers in Film event! 🎥🎞️

We had the pleasure of being invited to The Oakes to deliver a presentation on our journey into video production, life as a creative freelancer as well as give advice for the students launching their own creative careers.

As part of the session, we gave the students a real-life video brief to work on, and their enthusiasm, curiosity, and creativity was super impressive! They had some better ideas than we could ever think of😆

A big thank you to Daniela and The Oakes Sixth Form College for having us and to all the students who attended and engaged with such great questions!

An on-the-go BTS detailing a day in the life as we film Moving Waves’ end of year academy show back in July.

Our footage was included in a Netflix Documentary?! 🤯

Recently some of our previous client footage was included in ‘Turn Up The Bass’, a short documentary which was made as part of the Netflix Documentary Talent Fund.

We filmed multiple events, performances and festivals for Deaf Rave - which gave creative artists amongst the deaf community the platform to share their stories. It feels like a great privilege to have been able to capture some of Deaf Rave's journey and we look forward to seeing them grow even bigger! Props to the crew involved on this one.

📺 AMVC Video Screening…

👏🏻The reception to the new video we created for AMVC was amazing. Our video was part of a presentation conducted by the headteacher to over 1,000+ parents and prospective learners. It was great to see the audience’s reaction and hear the positive feedback - especially considering we have spent months working on this.

🎞️ Some stills from the Arthur Mellows Village College video we created, ahead of their Year 6 Open Evening.

Recently we were tasked by AMVC to create a fun and engaging video to welcome the new students, who will be joining the secondary school in the new academic year.

The brief we were set was to produce a fun, creative and narrative based video which shied away from the conventional long and boring vibe that some school videos produce. With this in mind, we utilised motion graphics, quick montages and storytelling techniques to follow a students journey from Year 7 all the way to Year 12.

🎉 Here is a promo video we created as part of Moving Waves’ Academy Show 2023. This teaser was produced alongside a full 2 hour live recording of the show.

🎥To capture the show, we used a multi-cam set up to record over 20 unique performances, including 65+ young performers in front of a live audience. Not only was it super inspiring to watch but it was also a great pleasure to work on a project which will provide families with great lifelong memories.

🗣Shoutout to the Moving Waves Team and all they do, the future looks bright for these young creatives!

🎓We went back to Middlesex University this week to join Gradstock’s Careers Festival 2023, as part of their MDX Alumni & Entrepreneur’s Corner.

🗣️As part of the event, we joined a film discussion panel and spoke to current students about freelancing, video production and more. We met so many ambitious and driven creatives, whose passion is a great testament to their promising careers ahead.

🎬 Last weekend we were invited to capture Moving Waves’ End of Year Academy Show 2023.

🎞️We used a multi-cam set up to capture the two hour event, which showcased performances from over 65 young people!

🎉👏🏻Kudos to all involved, it was a fantastic event that showed future stars in the making!

🤫We have been a bit MIA from socials recently so to round up since we last spoke we have -

→ Finally graduated

→ Created a Digital Media & Moving Image course syllabus for a global training provider

→ Generated over 1 million video views across different projects for our clients

→ Updated the Fever Days website

→ Invested into some cool new equipment eg gimbals, lights etc.

→ Built an online educational platform teaching video + editing

📈As much as these achievements are a reminder of the progress we are making, it is also a reminder of the countless client meetings, around the clock shoot days, late nights editing sessions and constant back and forth project planning.

🎯Moving forward, in 2023 we are continuing by working on new exciting video projects and collaborating with new clients.

🧳Here is one of our many peli cases including some of our on-the-go equipment for every day filming. Filming equipment is not cheap by any means so having these peli cases to keep everything safe is a lifesaver.

👩🏼‍💻Behind the scenes look into the editing process of a product promo ↓

💻To start the new year we are sharing a bts look into the editing process of our latest video project for the Wellfinitea Organic team. We filmed the video in our own makeshift studio space, animated the 3D elements in After Effects and put it all together in a Premiere Pro timeline which is what you can see above.
