CamelCase used to be something we wrote to be cool and trendy, little did we know that it was actually an accessibility tool and we should have kept the trend going!
When I was at school, we used to write text messages like this to fit in with the cool kids. no idea why, but there we go.
Now, as a marketing professional and accessibility advocate, I know the benefits of it and will shout from the rooftops to encourage more people to write this way when using hashtags.
For people with visual impairments who use a screenreader, camel case allows them to still understand the words that are within your hashtags by letting their screen reader know where one word finishes and another begins. It is as simple as using a capital letter at the start of each word.
