𝗔𝗡𝗢𝗡𝗬𝗠𝗢𝗨𝗦 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗢𝗥 𝗚𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗦 £𝟓𝗞 𝗕𝗢𝗢𝗦𝗧 𝗧𝗢 𝗥𝗢𝗦𝗦 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗘 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗗𝗥𝗬 𝗗𝗢𝗖𝗞 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗔𝗟

Our Ross Revenge Charity Dry Dock Appeal had a major boost today with a £5k donation via the Charities Aid Foundation. This brings our appeal total to around £320k. The donor wishes to remain anonymous so we don’t know who they are, but we are so very grateful to you and everyone else who is supporting our appeal. We have had some very generous donations over the past few weeks and they are much appreciated.

We’re now working on costings, towing surveys and the logistics of getting our historic radio ship out of the water for urgent structural repairs.

A Cat That Changed a Life 🐾✨

In 2007, James Bowen, a homeless man struggling with he**in addiction, stumbled upon a stray ginger cat who was injured and in need of help. James decided to care for the cat, whom he named Bob, not knowing that this encounter would change his life forever.

Looking after Bob gave James a purpose, helping him overcome his addiction and rebuild his life. Their incredible bond became the subject of a bestselling book, "A Street Cat Named Bob," which inspired millions and was later turned into a heartwarming movie.

Bob’s love and companionship not only saved James but also brought hope to countless others. Today, James dedicates his life to helping the homeless and rescuing animals in need.

This story reminds us of the extraordinary power of animals to heal and inspire us. ❤️🐱

Our charity appeal to raise funds to dry dock Ross Revenge for critical repairs continues to go from strength to strength. We have been given a real boost with music legends Francis Rossi and Chris de Burgh lending their support as patrons. This can only go in favour of our Lottery funding application - a complex process but we are nearly ready to submit - and we are very hopeful

The charity fund has just hit £311k and we are currently getting costings for the work. We are so grateful to you, our listeners and supporters, for your continued support through donations, our Crowdfunder appeal and regular Crowdfunder prize draws. The ship's hull is a priority, but the more we raise the more we can do to preserve this important piece of broadcasting history and ensure offshore broadcasts continue for years to come.

Singer-songwriter Chris de Burgh has officially become a patron of our charity MV Ross Revenge (Home of Radio Caroline), which is driving vital fundraising efforts to get our historic former pirate radio ship in dry dock for urgent structural repairs. He is the second leading music industry figure to get on board with the charity, joining Francis Rossi who accepted a patronage earlier this month.

“We're thrilled to announce that Chris de Burgh has lent his invaluable support to our charity’s fundraising efforts to secure the future of our iconic ship,” said Radio Caroline station manager Peter Moore. “It is very pertinent that his timeless 1986 hit ‘Lady in Red’ was played by Caroline DJs from Ross Revenge as a secret code to communicate urgent messages to the shore-based teams.”

Charity funds are currently heading towards £310k. While hull work is the priority, the more we raise the more we can do to restore Ross Revenge for generations to come
