If you've recently launched social media channels for your small business, these 3 steps are sure to put you in a great position going forward. 🚀
1️⃣ Have a clear plan
It's easy to assume that we know what we're doing because we use social media all the time, but it's different when it's for your business.
The time and effort you put into marketing your business via social media is an investment and it's crucial you make sure you're using your time wisely.
Having a clear plan allows you to determine your goals, define your target audience, decide how you want to present your brand to the world and ultimately allows you to measure success.
2️⃣ Choose your platforms
If you take anything away from this post, please let it be this - not all channels will be right for your business!
When choosing what platforms to promote your business on, keep your audience in mind at all times. If you're selling services to other businesses, you're more likely to get success on LinkedIn and X (formerly Twitter), and if you bake cakes you're going to get far more traction on visual platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
It's also important to take into account the amount of time you have to spend on your social media marketing, as you don't want to be overwhelmed with too many channels. Start with a couple and build out from there if you need to.
3️⃣ Know your audience
Having a genuine understanding of who your customers are and what they need can be the difference between success and failure. Things to consider when building a target audience include age, location, gender, buying habits, interests, motivations and challenges.
All of this will help inform what type of content you create, and who you push it out to!
