We have seen precious little of any 'Brexit benefits'. If we want growth, and lower taxes, then we need to rejoin the European Union

Not a Merry Christmas for so many. How long must this continue before the UK decides this far and no further? My partner says that if this were France, we’d not be here now. What do you think?
In 2019, the Vote Leave advocate promised that "not a single job" would be lost because of the UK's split with the European Union.
This is a slight underestimate as the most recent estimate is is £40bn p.a., so £770mn per week. If we spent that on the NHS, it would be such a massive increase that staffing would continue as a serious issue. Moreover under current conditions much would go to private companies with the associated profit margin.
We might do better to spend a large proportion on Social Care which is currently bunging up the NHS so badly with people healthy enough to be discharged but still unable to fully cater for themselves unassisted.
A new estimate puts the cost of Brexit to the UK at around £40 billion a year
Another seminal article from A. C. Grayling on what is wrong with the UK’s parliamentary and party systems. A must read.
At the end of the year of three Conservative prime ministers leading a country in crisis, AC Grayling considers what the UK can do to free itself of the constitutional and political chaos it finds itself in
This is not a nice article. Nevertheless I recommend it strongly because we need to look clearly into the abyss of our failure to ensure Rejoin. It does not bear allowing. We need to succeed and that is in the hands of each and every one of us.
The Moral of Brexit Britain’s Descent into the Underworld of Modernity
Well worth a read. My favourite point is on Foreign Direct Investment which is tanking.
John Cole explores the government's response to a petition regarding Brexit
Leave won. We left the EU.
Interesting analysis across trade, inflation, pay, vacancies and immigration.
Good luck for the 1st December to Richard Hewison at a first by election for RejoinEU. I believe Chester is an area of Labour supporters but perhaps there’s enough willing to vote RejoinEU to show Labour that it is wrong to hold to Brexit. What sort of people hold to an bad idea in the face of new information?
"Labour are now to the right of the Tories on immigration!", the right-winger said following Starmers CBI speech.
We are all sitting around waiting for an Autumn statement from the government regarding a fiscal black hole of about £55B which is likely to lead to Austerity 2.0. What if that hole is just a product of how you look at the problem in accounting terms. Two articles supporting that point of view. Brexit was always about a low wage economy ripe for exploitation. Austerity is a direct choice ensuring this.

New research, published today by the Progressive Economy Forum, shows that the widely- reported £50bn “hole” in the public finances, is the result of government accountancy rules and highly uncertain forecasts, not tax or spending decisions. Using official forecasts from the Office for Budget R...

News for the campaign to Rejoin the EU.
This is a long article. It delineates the problems that the UK has and the history of how that came to be. It shows how incomes are lower than other European countries and associates the decline with a movement towards the problems that Italy has: vacillation between RW governments and technocratic ones which fail to rectify the situation.
My view: Economists do think that there’s a solution. It is not the one that this government is choosing however. It does however involve rejoining the Single Market and possibly the Custom Union. Ideally a full rejoin would help even more.
How Britain became the sick man of Europe — again.
Still wondering if she will make it to Friday.

Is parliamentary democracy dying under the Conservative governments of the last twelve years? In particular since 2019 has an assault on PD been increasingly successful?
Tory governments of the past 12 years have shown little respect for democracy
This brought tears to my eyes. Keep the faith. We will rejoin.
National Rejoin March exceeded all expectations to give us all hope, a strengthened belief in the cause and a resolve to continue campaigning
This seems to be expert research on views on Immigration within GB. Still not pro countrywide but much less concern. Is this due to greater understanding and knowledge of the need for immigration for the UK to work or repeated exposure to the scares of Vote Leave.
Suella Braverman’s recent resignation and reappointment has exposed the divides within the Conservative Party over immigration. Some, including former Prime Minister Liz Truss, believe growth…
Brexit - leading to a fall in competition and a rise in prices. I don’t recall that on the Brexit tin when first mooted. It was seen by Remoaners (now Rejoiners) though.
Simon Calder, travel correspondent of The Independent, said: “The concept of ‘open skies’ was first pioneered in Europe decades ago by the UK.
“Since then, allowing competition to flourish has brought huge benefits to airline passengers across Europe – as well as British businesses.
“It’s ironic that Brexit is now bringing about a reduction of choice and, in all likelihood, a corresponding increase in fares.”
Aer Lingus has suspended its flights between Belfast City and Heathrow following the loss of its temporary licence after Brexit, the airline has announced
You might recall this from the summer. It was read by the author yesterday at the join EU March in Parliament Square. It was very moving.
