is featured in edition 11 of The FLUX Review which is being published later this month.

Xuran Guo’s art is deeply influenced by Francis Bacon, Max Ernst, and Salvador Dalí. Through experimental techniques and self-exploration, she authentically translates her personal experiences of desire, attachment, and the fear of death onto the canvas. Guo’s work reflects her views on body awareness, self-acceptance, and societal norms through the deconstruction and reconstruction of the human form. Her art serves as a vessel, reflecting society, life, and her emotions, encompassing elements of complexity, absurdity, melancholy, and struggle.

Through her work, Guo invites viewers to explore their relationships with desire, love, fear, and mortality, aiming to evoke resonance and self-reflection. Guo seeks to raise awareness about these profound themes, hoping to connect with her audience and foster shared understanding.

Starting his art career in 2017, following inclusion in StartArt in the Saatchi Gallery, Walker now regularly shows his work in Art Fairs and exhibitions throughout the UK and Europe each year. Walker’s innovative and individual technique involves creating vibrant landscapes that swiftly intrigue the viewer. Appearing almost photorealistic from afar, closer inspection reveals a wild and intricate abstraction of vivid colours.

Starting with comprehensive photostudies of each location, Walker then applies his own unique style to the work to enhance and maximise colours and details, thereby creating an immediacy and depth to the piece. Walker’s artwork comprises intricate mosaics of many thousands of coloured triangles, each one individually hand-drawn on an iPad, and taking at least 200 hours to complete.

With a portfolio of landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes and botanical studies, Walker travels widely across the UK and Europe seeking inspiring settings and vistas, ranging from Amsterdam and the Italian riviera to natural Mountain views and Arboreta.

Walker says he uses his iPad as a ‘digital canvas’ with each image then produced as limited edition giclée prints (using archival-quality Hahnemühle photo-rag papers, using non-fade, natural pigments). Award-winning Walker has much of his work included in private collections worldwide

Michelle Mildenhall, a unique artist hailing from the UK, possesses a captivating approach to portraiture. Her distinctive works, crafted from sheet latex and infused with stylised imagery, transport viewers into a realm of unsettling beauty and enigma.

Mildenhall, originally from Wiltshire, pursued a degree in Textiles and Surface patterns at Somerset College of Arts. Influenced by art movements like Pop Art, and early erotic illustrators like Aubrey Beardsley and fe**sh artist John Willie, she developed a penchant for themes of opulence, sensuality, and contemporary feminism. After completing her studies, Mildenhall honed her skills as a commercial graphic artist in London, where her love for textiles, graphic design, and latex kindled the spark of creativity that led her to conceive a truly innovative and unprecedented artistic vision.

Titled Disconnected, Liah Lima's latest collection is a poignant reflection on the human condition. Feelings of isolation are depicted through scattered shapes, while vibrant colours and a sense of movement suggest concepts of self-discovery and ultimately, reconnection.

Lima views her art as a way to bring a piece of the natural world into the man-made world, prompting others to consider the environment and their impact on it. As an artist, Lima aims to raise awareness and initiate discussions about environmental issues and the challenges faced by transgender individuals.

By using acrylic paints and pigments, including recycled paper in some pieces, Lima creates works that are somewhat disconnected from the world but deeply connected to her emotions. This blend of feelings fluctuates constantly from pride to indifference.

is intrigued by the opportunities presented when working with a variety of materials, and he uses mixed media as a way to experiment. In his artwork, he combines traditional portraiture with abstract elements, drawing inspiration from the rebellious and energetic nature of street art. Stefano's goal is to produce pieces that convey a sense of rawness and authenticity, while also reflecting the spontaneity and unpredictability of his artistic process.

Stefano’s work often centers around well-known figures, reimagining them through a modern perspective to honor their influence on society. Ultimately, this blend enables Stefano to create a visual experience that encompasses both the familiar and the cutting-edge, encouraging viewers to see the familiar in a new way.

Richard Fuller spent his formative years on the family farm in East Kent, South East England. His vibrant paintings draw inspiration from the expansive skies, vivid sunsets, and golden wheat fields of the predominantly flat landscape.

Massimo Comuzzi is an intuitive artist by passion and an imagination coach by vocation. Originally from the Venice area, Italy, after living between Europe and Southeast Asia, Comuzzi is now based in London, a unique backdrop to express his multifaceted life, and experience, through a culture of acceptance, creativity, and fun.

At the centre of self-realisation, Comuzzi places imagination, the creative energy that, through its artistic expression, it opens the heart to hidden possibilities and is a core principle to coach people to find their inner artist.

Comuzzi works fast, driven by intuition. An untrained artist, he believes every mark on the paper is an expression of the soul, and so it is perfect as is. It is about finding flow by losing control and taking risks, embracing unpredictability with speed.

Comuzzi works are based on a daring use of charcoal in life drawing sessions, and on the fluidity of watercolour abstractions. The Nature Dialogue watercolour collection at Flux 2024 will invite you to connect with the natural world. The experience of deeply engaging with nature will offer richness, depth, new perspectives, and a sense of magic.

Catarina Diaz is a London-based analogue collage and mixed media artist with a Portuguese soul. Her transcendent pieces and bespoke commissions, mixing realism with spirituality and surrealism, combine her vibrant and colourful early-life recollections with London’s cosmopolitan life, inspiring us to reconnect to nature and ourselves. As an artist, she relishes mixing various media, such as oil-sticks and acrylics on paper and canvas, combining them with manual collage. Diaz creates art pieces aiming at your grasp of inner beauty. Her minimalist collages inspire the search for deeper meaning, challenging the viewer to find the rare centre inside that makes embracing beauty possible... all of it, with its imperfection, its duality and transcendent existence. Her art envelops your senses slowly, calling for them in subtle but exquisite ways.

We are dellighted to welcome to - as an introuction will be interviewing Kerry tomorrow on FLUX Review TV.

Kerry-Lynne Palmer is an artist who delves into a deep personal response to the complexities and ethereal beauty of nature and architecture in its rawest form, particularly in the West Sussex countryside where she resides. These themes, along with childhood memories, are always central to her work. She is fascinated by the juxtaposition of living vegetation and decaying architecture in her art.

Palmer draws inspiration from historical photography techniques such as tin type, ambrotype, etchings, and lithographic printing. During the lockdown, she extensively studied and experimented with these processes, eventually developing her own unique style of editing, printing, and hand gilding images. She incorporates these techniques with her photography in sepia, monochrome, and colour.

The reactions her images evoke, along with the curiosity about her creative process, serve as a driving force behind her work.

With a heavy emphasis on the handmade, Molly Pemberton’s practice explores the notion in which the escalation in digital technology composes our understanding of reality. She aims to convey how craft-based activities can be utilised to emphasise tactility and materiality; that which separates the handmade from the digital.

Pemberton addresses the proliferation of digital imagery enabled by the availability and immediacy of the Internet and how these images might mediate reality. Influenced by Jean Baudrillard’s writing, recent work has questioned the impact of deteriorating images and information disseminated online, and how such reproductions may transform the meaning of the originals.

Inspired by science fiction and dystopias, related imagery, colour palettes and themes emerge throughout Pemberton’s practice. Typically, work materialises as documentative and durational objects of the colour red. This seeks to highlight the mundanity and monotony as well as, by contrast, the fascinating and formidable extraordinariness of this digital age.
