CUMBRAE is set to play host to an array of beautifully-maintained and meticulously-restored vintage vehicles this weekend as the Millport Classic Car Show returns to the island.
The show, born out of Jimmy Newton's love and enthusiasm for old cars, will celebrate its 10th anniversary when a fleet of magnificent vehicles rolls into the grounds of the Garrison House today.

A new community group is being formed in Largs to help promote local business and bring more tourism to the town.
A variety of ideas are being looked into including a spend local campaign, a community hub, a local radio station and an online platform to help promote shops in the town and events.

We Will Remember Them: The 80th anniversary of D-Day has sparked memories in Largs of the day the town unveiled a new information panel in tribute to the Normandy landings. The News was there in June 2019 to cover the special event, alongside WW2 veteran Jack Ransom, local Legion members John Hutchison and Miller Paterson, and North Ayrshire's Provost Ian Clarkson.
All have passed away since the 75th anniversary commemoration.
The event was also organised by the Largs branch of Royal British Legion Scotland, which has also disbanded, and is now part of the organisation's Saltcoats, Ardrossan and Stevenston branch.

Daniel Barr, who lives in Fort Street, says he has complained to both CalMac and North Ayrshire Council about the MV Loch Bhrusda but has been given short shrift.
