Sad news as Surrey Police announce the sudden death of Police Constable Stuart Johnson.

PC Johnson joined Surrey Police almost 20 years ago and is remembered as being an integral part of multiple teams.

He was known for being a keen cyclist and could be seen cycling to work most days.

Darren Pemble, Chair of Surrey Police Federation, said: “This is tragic news.

“Stuart was a much liked and popular colleague. He is remembered as hard working and a dedicated police officer.

“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and close colleagues at this time.”

Just 16 days to sign up to our One Million Steps Challenge.

We launch our step challenge on 10th September. This is a significant date as it is World Suicids Prevention Day.

Latest figures (ONS) state that during 2022, 115 died by su***de each week across the UK - That's approx one every every 90 mins.....

For every one su***de 150 people are emotionally affected with 15 of which emotionally traumatised. (Su***de First Aid)

Our Emergency Services are no different and are , we believe (although statistics are not available as they are not accurately recorded) , at greater risk than most due to the challenging roles they perform.

We have 40 free places left to sign up to our Step Challenge.

We appreciated it takes time and commitment and we believe that it is the taking part that matters most.

What we do ask is that if you take a free place then you raise funds for our charity. (£150 min)

Funds raised will help us to continue to train Emergency Service workers in Mental Health and Su***de First Aid.
