Looking back at my 2023 photos got me thinking about the many highlights…

So I’ll start with how enjoyable it was working (& sunbathing!) at Stephs Packed Lunch in Leeds, my first Grand National at Aintree, first time at the magnificent Tottenham Stadium, the first eSports at Stratford & NEC, first experience at Old Trafford in the FA Cup & finishing the year with my first Jib shift on the legendary Blue Peter for the 60th Anniversary!

At lot of firsts & although work may have slowed down near the end of 2023, I’m really grateful to all the people I have met & worked with in 2023. Especially those who helped me keep a roof over my head Neil ‘Lammo’ Lammond, Chris McCullough, Paddy Hanna, Adrian Croome & Chris Hollier 🙏🏻

The past 4 years of being freelance has taught me a lot…

The one thing constant is change.

As long as you have enough money for rent and bills, then the rest is just a bonus.

Not to work the birthdays or anniversaries of your nearest & dearest, as life is too short.

Thank you for reading a very long post (the last of 2023) & much love & respect to all I’ve worked with & I hope the industry picks up for all soon & that our paths cross in 2024.

Flatering to be asked to operate the Jib for Blue Peter’s 65th Birthday…the longest running Kids TV Show in the world don’t you know?!

From starting the 2022/23 FA Cup journey at The Banbury Plant Hire Community Ground to finishing at Wembley Stadium for final! 🏆

Another career milestone achieved by working on the 2023 FA Cup Final for ITV Sport & NEP (Pitchside cam pre-game and Studio FloatCam for halftime & post match).

It’s been a privilege to work for ITV Sport throughout the FA Cup run & an honour to regularly be in the company of footballing legends Roy Keane and Ian Wright. Hearing their opinions off camera during the game has been very insightful & interesting, peppered with the occasional expletive!

Many thanks to all I worked with, top talent all round! I very much look forward to the next career milestone, who knows perhaps a World Cup Final next?! ⚽️

Giant killings, debatable offsides & of course VAR! All in another great FA Cup 4th round weekend 🏆

Was at Anfield last Saturday under the floodlights for Liverpool V Wolves last weekend working for ITV alongside Mark Pougatch, Eniola Aluko & Emile Heskey ⚽️

Thanks to all those who I worked with…until the next round! (and let’s not talk about Aston Villa’s exit to Stevenage the day after, which unfortunately I attended!🤦🏻‍♂️)

Boxing Day 2020. Great to be back operating the jib for BT Sport Score. Wore my Aston Villa Christmas jumper & got a Villa 3-0 win to top it all off! Always enjoy working here with a great crew. Thanks for following this page and my journey, I thank you from the bottom of my heart in what has been a year of immense change to say the least! Merry Christmas & happy New Year to you all 🙏

Great to be doing the jib camera for ITV Sport on ENG V ITA rugby today.

Under my mask is a big smile because it was a pleasure to share the win in the studio with rugby legends Johnny Wilkinson, Clive Woodward & Laurence Dallaglio 🏉

Aston Villa - Champions Of Europe 🏆
..is what they said in 1982! Whilst there may be no recent return to Europe for this great club (at least till next season!), I’ve returned to BT Sport on the jib for Man City v Porto last week and this week covering Liverpool, Juventus, Chelsea & PSG amongst others ⚽️

From starting the week in Tesco (on overnight shifts shelf stacking) to ending the week at BT Sport (working on the Jib) on Score.

In these testing times you have to do what you have to do to make ends meet and keep things moving whilst trying to keep the dream alive.

Never take anything for granted.

Meet your new NFL Show presenter!

In fact don’t, as I’m not very good in front of camera and my knowledge of American Football is limited at best.

But you’ll be glad to know I’m far better the other side of the camera and my knowledge of NFL is slowly getting better through working on the show.

So I’ll leave the presenting to the professionals Mark Chapman, Jason Bell & Osi Umenyiora and I’ll stick to working with the great crew behind the scenes.

Working once again with the great Score crew is always a pleasure & very glad to be asked back again this Saturday for more of the same. ⚽️

It’s only taken 4 months, 3 different editing software, 2 versions lost through computer crashes and 1 final edit ready to be watched, helping promote local talent!
