I’ve realised over the last couple of months when you dedicate your life to wanting to make a difference to your own community (in my case it’s visually impaired and disabled gamers) you put more pressure on yourself which in turn means you rely more and more on those closest to you without ever realising it!

These people have not just helped make me the man I am today they help me make a difference and I’ve not always appreciated that! But I sure as hell do now

On Friday, we had not only one special guest, but TWO special guests!

Our buddies Matt and Mike both came to see us and it felt like the crossover episode we didn't know we needed!

So why am I “The Wobbly Gamer” is a question I get asked a lot, as it’s National Nystagmus Awareness Day I thought I’d tell you all!

I was born with a condition called delayed visual maturation which meant I was born under developed and totally blind! As I got older my vision increased and I was eventually diagnosed with a condition called Nystagmus, it’s a condition that causes my pupils to wobble/move uncontrollably! Further on in life we realised I have one of the more interesting and unique variations of Nystagmus, Head Shaking Nystagmus this causes not just my eyes to wobble but my whole head! A friend of mine gave me the nickname Wobbles a number of years ago (cheers ) and when I got into content creation and accessibility consulting I wanted a name that not just represented me but also my condition, it’s something I’ve grown up with and embraced, I love my wobble and I couldn’t imagine life without it!

So once again happy International Nystagmus Awareness Day to all and remember people “Keep on Wobbling” ❤️💛🖤

Streams are going to be very hit and miss over the next two weeks, me and (TheWobblyWife) have just got the keys for a bungalow! Due to the difficulties that comes with spastic paraplegia we were advised to move into a bungalow and after 8 months we finally have one!

I will still be streaming when possible but we have a lot to move and fatigue is a real killer for me at the moment. Thank you as always for your continued support!

Happy Global Accessibility Awareness Day!

Today (and everyday) is about getting everyone learning and thinking about accessibility and inclusion

Here are some simple ways you can make your digital content accessible:
- Add alt text
- Add captions to your videos
- Use high contrast colours
- Keep emojis to 1 or 2 and not between words
- Use CamelCase for hashtags

When Aunt Wendy comes in clutch with the away kit for the stream set up!

It has been a year since I was made redundant, took a risk and “The Wobbly Gamer” went full time! It’s been an absolutely crazy 12 months with so many pinch me moments, a trip to Vancouver, presenting to Xbox’s accessibility teams, talking at EXG and more to come in the future!

I started this journey back in 2017 when I found out I my usable vision was decreasing and I never imagined being able to do this as a full time job. All this is about making games accessible for everyone and seeing the shift in the industry for me has been huge, I’m so excited for the future of accessible games.

The fact I get to present to the people who used to/still make the games I loved and still do will never get old!

I had the honour to present to the Xbox accessibility teams this evening!

The last 12 months has been an absolute whirlwind, from being told I don’t have a skill set a sight loss charity can use and being made redundant to a week in Canada at one of my favourite developers offices to presenting to Xbox 🤯

Happy Mother’s Day to all mums out there but an especially big one to this amazing woman! She keeps Taz (and myself) alive on a day to day to basis while also ensuring we’re always in the right place at the right time! Without her constant patience, love and affection for both myself and Taz it’s say to say The Wobbly Gamer wouldn’t exist!

Ive always been a bit socially awkward but video games has always been there for me to escape in and get away when relationships have broken down or ended.

Its why I advocate for accessibility so much as I want other disabled gamers to experience what I experienced growing up and am still experiencing now with gaming and the friendship and communities I’ve joined and formed through gaming!

People ask why I do what I do for a living and this is why!

That’s 2/3 of disabled gamers facing barriers to do something abled people do easily and without issues! Gaming is by far the least accessible form of media these days for blind and visually impaired people and I want to change that!

66% of gamers with disabilities said that they face barriers or issues related to gaming.

The Gaming priority action area at will unite the community with hands-on gaming experiences, competitions, and cutting-edge assistive tech.

Our ultimate mission is paving the way toward an industry standard for accessible gaming.

Last week was a very busy week for myself as the Wobbly Gamer with 3 different events in different parts of the country! Then to top of it off little man aka Taz ended up in hospital Monday night due to a viral affection, he is on the mend and already getting back to his hyperactive self!

But I just wanted to show some appreciation to she has been amazing over the last 10 days, running me around, keeping both me and Taz alive and just being the most amazing mum and wife without complaining (too much) about the effort this takes! We love you so much beautiful ❤️💛🖤

Last night was an amazing moment for myself! I got the opportunity to present to the accessibility teams at thanks to the amazing talking about my accessibility journey and my experiences as a visually impaired gamer.

As self confessed Xbox fan boy this was a bit of a dream come true, the last 6 years of hard work and moaning about text size has created some amazing opportunities for myself and I think this one could top the list!

Also a huge shoutout to for the custom hand drawn pictures, I’m glad someone in the family got artistic flair as I definitely didn’t!
