Hastings 2022 Tide Time posters will be on sale just in time for Christmas. Get yours from the uniquely excellent Eel & Bear bottle shop, just off Queens Rd, Hastings. They will be priced at £37 and available from 4pm on Thursday (23rd).
Eel & Bear are open all week but for the posters you'll need to be there:
Thursday 4-6pm
Friday 12-5pm

Well that was awesome. Hard to get good snaps as it was understandably popular but well worth the wait. Apparently the Netherlands are soliciting plans to excavate and transport her back to Holland, which would be her first arrival there as she wrecked on the return leg of her maiden voyage. As for the pier, when we drove past it around half an hour before low tide it looked to me like you wouldn’t have been able to walk around it... this time.

HASTINGS’ BIGGEST TIDE OF THE YEAR. There are some big spring tides coming up with the biggest being on Wednesday morning. From about 8 meters at around 01:20 down to just 20cm or so at about 08:30. I’ve never been to see the wreck of The Amsterdam so I’ll definitely be there but does anyone know how far you can get around Hastings Pier when the tide is that low?

A freezing dawn from the Fire Hills. Apparently from the sea the hills and cliffs are so bright in the rising sunlight they look like they’re on fire, hence the name (or so I’ve heard). It was c-c-cold though!

It’s amazing what you can find at low tide. DINOSAUR FOOTPRINTS!! An iguanodon walked this stretch of beach about 120m years ago. Really incredible to see.

There’s still time to get a print before Christmas. I’ll be doing a final print run this Wednesday and delivering (local to Hastings) on Thursday.
