In an age where technology is at the core of everything we do, it can often feel like we’re living in a superficial world. This is a concept that London-based artist explores in her latest single ‘Finer Things.’
Alysha explains, "This song is about not chasing the finer things in life but rather looking at what you have - the earth, the animals, your family, what’s around you. Watch how the earth is dying because of us, we assume we are of such great importance because we are humans, but we are just as special as any other living being on this planet"
This R&B songstress is on our radar as one of the most interesting voices in the UK, and so we sat down with Alysha to peel back the layers of this breathing new single.

Growing up on a diet of jazz, soul and pop music with West African influences, it’s no wonder that Nigerian singer-rapper has an eclectic taste when it comes to creating music.

"Sometimes you have to just take everything in strides and not put too much pressure on yourself, especially if you're an independent artist and you don't have the infrastructure around you, don't measure yourself against other people. Everything will happen in its perfect timing so do as much as you can, but don't overexert yourself".

Just 20 years old and already boasting an eclectic discography, the Croydon-born rapper is making waves with his genre-blending sound and style. Drawing on a myriad influences from his Ghanain heritage and London upbringing, BZ’s afro-infused take on rap is refreshingly distinct. Carrying the torch for artists like J Hus and Pa Salieu, whilst simultaneously creating work that is wholly unique, is a tall order for any artist, yet BZ seems to revel in the notion that he’s taking charge of the rap game, all while carving out a lane of his own.

BXKS says "I am a woman making music so it's not as easy. If I was a guy it would probably be much easier getting people's attention but as a woman, I do have to do things to make people be like ooh rah who’s this?"
