Meet Our Head Chef- Kartik Bhardwaj
📖 This isn’t just another post—it’s a story. If you have a moment, give it a read.
The first lessons I ever learned about food came from my grandfather, and they have stayed with me my entire life. As a child, I spent my early days beside him, watching, learning, absorbing everything about what food really means.
Cooking wasn’t just about preparing a meal—it was about community, togetherness, and tradition. In the village, whenever there was a gathering, the entire community came together to cook. Some peeled, some chopped, some stirred, some served. Those moments taught me the heart of hospitality—the simple joy of bringing people together through food.
Those early experiences shaped everything for me. I knew that food wasn’t just about taste—it was about how it makes people feel, the effort behind it, and the memories it creates. That understanding led me to pursue hospitality as my foundation, earning my degree from IHM Bangalore, India.
From there, my journey took me to some of the world’s most prestigious brands—The Ritz-Carlton in Bangalore, Four Seasons in the Maldives, Waldorf Astoria in Dubai, and Royal Caribbean Cruises. Each of these places taught me something valuable—service, precision, culture, and most importantly, how food connects people across the world.
My time with Royal Caribbean Cruises was a turning point. Over several years, I traveled to more than 30 countries, immersing myself in different cuisines, dining styles, and service techniques. I learned how food is not just nourishment but a universal language—one that brings people together, regardless of culture or background.
I first came to the UK and settled in North Wales, where I pursued my MBA in International Business from Bangor University. After that, I moved to London to learn, gain experience, and eventually open my first restaurant. London taught me the fast-paced dynamics of its vibrant culinary scene, but North Wales always felt like home.
So I returned, bringing with me everything I had learned—about food, about hospitality, about creating something meaningful. And that’s how Nomi Restaurants came to be.
At Nomi, we honour tradition while embracing everything I have learned along the way. We are not just about food—we are about experiences, about the warmth of hospitality, and about bringing people together over something meaningful.
Hope to see you all, and Thank you for your love and support.
Kind Regards,
Kartik Bhardwaj
