I covered a horrifying car crash on the A13 back in November 2022 where a man drove a stolen van the wrong way up the motorway and smashed into the Uber which uni grad Grace Payne was in. She died at the scene and today the driver has entered a guilty plea for causing her death, relieving her grieving family the difficulty of a lengthy trial. This is a truly heartbreaking case, with three lives irrevocably changed due to the actions of one man.

This morning I spoke with detective superintendent Scott Egerton of Essex Police about missing Chelmsford man Timothy Hatcher. Due to his dementia, there are fears he could be alone in hospital somewhere unidentified, with searches still taking place across the city and enquiries across the UK.
