❓This is a really common question and the answer is, it is dependent on the individual person.

🥐Every single person requires a different amount of calories per day, due to their current lifestyle habits, weight, height, gender etc.

🧠Knowing how many calories you need a day to maintain your current weight is a great tool so you can maximise results if you want to lose weight, gain weight or stay the same.

🦵🏽You can either use a formula..

Mifflin-St Jeor Equation (elderly):
For men: BMR = 10W + 6.25H - 5A + 5
For women: BMR = 10W + 6.25H - 5A - 161

Revised Harris-Benedict Equation (athletes and normal range):
For men: BMR = 13.397W + 4.799H - 5.677A + 88.362
For women: BMR = 9.247W + 3.098H - 4.330A + 447.593

OR you can use an online calculator, like the TDEE Calculator, input your details and it will give you results.

💪🏼What I would recommend is to not look at the protein options and instead go by 1.8-2.2g of protein per kg of bodyweight to maximise muscle growth/maintaining muscle mass (if that’s your goal). If you don’t have that goal, then the UKs recommendation is 0.75g per kg of body weight.

✨For example, someone that has a slightly active lifestyle, weighs 63kg and wants to keep muscle mass and maintain their weight. They may aim for 1800 calories a day and around 113-140g protein per day.

🖤If you want in depth analysis of this I recommend speaking to a Nutritionist or your doctor.
