“Dollar Beard Club”. Within 48h, they generated around 1M views, + 6000 clients. We’re no wizards, but that sounds quite good for a first ad.
First off, this video refers directly to a viral ad made by “Dollar Shave Club” (link below). They used the virality on this one to surf on it.
What they’re trying to sell is their brand, not the product in itself. To get an effective ad, we have to think psychologically. We’re humans, we’re all different, some people like to go dancing, others prefer wrestling bears, we’ve all got our hobbies. However, we’ve all got an average attention span of 8 sec. Surprising right?
To counter this span, they started by explaining what you’ll get and how much it costs.
In the end, after they know they’ve got your attention, they’ll reveal their first CTA - aka. Call To Action baby. Dollar Beard Club is before all a lifestyle, values, it’s not just about buying their stuff, but being part of their group.
What if you’re not in the beard grooming market you’d say?
1 - Copycat what’s already working. No need for reinventing everything from scratch.
The beard dude saw something that worked for somebody else and wanted to adapt it for himself.
2 - Virality brings virality: +7M views
